Fat Baggers Inc. (FBI) is no stranger to customizing stock Harley-Davidsons into functional and beautiful touring sculptures. In fact, the company

currently produces its own line of motorcycle models as well as a vast line of aftermarket components available for motorcycles. Most recently, FBI tapped into the trike market to spread the love of what the company is capable of producing. Lucky for trike folks out there, FBI has taken the leap of faith and so far things are looking bright.

This trike had its start as another in the line of many production bikes Gary Chipp,

owner of FBI, set out to build for his wife, Amy. As the trike was nearing completion, plans were brewing for an awesome hot-pink paint scheme with Amy’s name in white gold leaf…a scheme perfect for Amy but not suited everyone’s tastes. Low and behold, as the next rally quickly approached, the business-savvy of her husband combined with a newborn son led to a change of plan from Amy owning the trike to having it serve as the business model with a more neutral red-and-black scheme with silver airbrushed graphics done by FBI’s in-house painter.

Knowing that power and speed are a big

portion of what trike owners are looking for, a JIMS 120ci motor was chosen for the build. JIMS motors are used frequently on FBI motorcycles, so the company stuck with the well-known motor builders for its trikes. Plus it doesn’t hurt that a 120ci engine can get a heavy trike from A to B that much quicker. It also helped that FBI started manufacturing its own trike kits for Harley guys looking to tap into that market.

FBI’s Trike Kit fits ’97-later Touring models and embodies a cool, classic style with modern ingenuity. The kit includes a bolt-on swingarm chassis with straight axle and differential with a dual-disc setup using Wilwood four-piston

calipers and heavy-duty rotors. The kit also includes a carpeted trunk with keyless entry and remote key-fob, injection-molded plastic side covers, LED run/turn/brake lights, and a flush-mounted LED-lit chrome tag frame that’s all pre-wired to ease installation. Don’t forget that the 18x8-inch chrome rear wheels are also included in the kit with a set of 245/40-18 Dunlop tires. The best part is that FBI’s Trike Kit utilizes a stock H-D primary, rear shocks, drive belt, and exhaust so that you don’t have to drop an arm and a leg on unnecessary components.

Obviously the boys at FBI kicked things up a notch with this wild ride. Take one look at the fairing and you’ll notice the iPad that’s been installed into the inner portion of what FBI is calling the I Fairing. As soon as the iPad launched a few years ago, FBI immediately drew up plans to incorporate the tablet device into a motorcycle fairing. Today, the I Fairing can’t stay on the shelves and its technology is testament to FBI’s forward thinking. Plus it’s just downright cool.

There are plenty of other options out there that FBI offers for its Trike Kits, such as its raked triple trees for improved steering, FBI backrest with under-seat mount, 18- or 21-inch custom front wheel and tire to match the rear wheels, and much more. FBI’s Trike Kits start at just $7,995.95 (unpainted), but you can have them do all the work with everything color-matched to your Harley for just under 12-grand.
