The West Ravenswood Corridor Greenway Metra North Line Improvements
Cross Section
Winnemac AreaTe green space between Winona Street and Winnemac Avenue has been cared or by a group o neighbors who live on the west side o Ravenswood Avenue. Over the years they have made many improvements to this
landscape and continue to maintain it.Te narrowing o Ravenswood to a one-way street will make trac ow riendlier and increase the amounto green space available or community landscaping. Te new green space will also appear as a larger and morecontinuous parkway due to the landscape improvements planned between Winona and Foster. Te need ora continuous high retaining wall will be avoided through use o lower, plantable landscape walls to handle thesoil slopes, producing a tiered, garden-like efect. Te tiered walls will also allow or the preservation o someo the larger existing trees.
Tis plan also includes converting the head-in parking just north o Winnemac to parallel parking to urtherincrease the amount o community green space.
