MICE RF TEST STAND

• Major Milestones (2006)– Testing of BURLE 4616 circuit

– Testing of 4616 circuit with full amplitude and phase control

– Work beginning on refurbishment of TH116 circuit

Current progress

• 4616HT Power supply – Power supply is being constructed by DL power

supply group, and is progressing well.– All major components are on order, or have been

delivered.

• 4616 Auxiliary Rack– Heater control system has been purchased– Screen pulser is currently being designed.– PLC control system has been procured ready for

programming

Low level RF

• Low level components are under investigation– Oscillator on the basis of DDS (Direct digital

synthesis) has been procured– RF detector prototypes have been produced– Basic low level system components are

available (no phase and gain control)– Full Low level system to be produced by NOV

2006 (with phase and gain control)

High Power Coaxial Components• Directional coupler and water load are now on

site. –Ready for installation

4616 circuit refurbishment

• Circuit is in surprisingly good condition!– Flexible water pipes to be replaced– Rubber o-rings to be replaced– Redundant ancillary equipment has been

removed.– Minor repairs to finger stock in progress.– Cleaning of RF surfaces in progress.
