Robert “Buck” Anderson, Piedmont Newnan Hospital Buck Anderson took the long way to Coweta County. A native of Boise, Idaho, Anderson attended college at the U.S. Military Academy— better known as West Point—and continued on to Mercer University in Macon, where he earned his MBA degree. After completing his education, Anderson entered active duty in the Army as an Aviation Officer. After flying Blackhawk helicopters “for a few years,” Anderson turned to the business world and spent five years as a healthcare revenue cycle consultant. The job required intensive travel, and when he was ready to leave the road behind and put down roots, he accepted a job at CTCA’s Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan. He later transitioned to Piedmont Newnan Hospital and says, “I have been blessed to work with and for some incredible people.” Anderson said the opportunity to join Leadership Coweta was one he couldn’t pass up. “I am hoping to grow both my understanding and connection to the people, businesses, and organizations within Newnan and Coweta County and to find areas where I can positively impact my community and look for ways in which I can serve as an emissary for my hospital to reach others.” Community involvement has always been important to Anderson, and he hopes Leadership Coweta “will connect me better to needs and opportunities to serve.
