The Santa Fe Five is an undulating twill in the

adobe colors of the southwest. It appears as

one of my Cherokee-style twills, but this basket

repeats every 10 stakes and it has mostly 5-5 twill rows. The undulation of the weave

and the earth-tone colors blend like a

southwest landscape.

Colors are as shown: Dark and Light terra cotta, sand

tan and sky blue with natural.

Please bring a cloth and a metal spoke weight and alligator clips to class.

Colorful stakes and a sweet pair of handles - Not quite a miniature picnic basket,

but close! While the weaving techniques on this

basket are simple, the materials and size means that this basket is not for

beginners; this little basket requires a gentle touch,

careful material preparation and focused

attention on shaping.
