We know that they will all have a great time and learn a lot. It is a wonderful opportunity to get together with the other schools. Your child may have mentioned that there will be a Talent Quest this term. This will be student run. Children are given the opportunity to sing, dance, juggle and show their skills by them- selves or in small groups. They can share any talent they may have. To- wards the end of the term they will be able to perform what they have prac- tised. This will be judged and there will be some small prizes. So, please encourage your children to share their talents for our Mimi’s Got Talent Show. We have booked a visit to the TSB Showplace for the two junior classes on the third of June. The show is called ‘Mr McGee & The Biting Flee’. The children will travel by bus. Thank you so much to Home and School for funding the show and transport. Week two already. I have been able to spent time in each class and am most impressed with the behaviour of the children. They are making me feel very welcome. It is a pleasure to be in a school that is running so well and has such dedicated staff. What a great place to be for all! MIMI SCHOOL “WHERE THE COUNTRY, COAST, AND CLASSROOM MEET”

May 15, 2014

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Last Tuesday, the children from the senior class, Mrs Dawson and some of the parents headed for camp at Vertical Horizon. We know that they will all have a great time and learn a lot. It is a wonderful opportunity to get together with the other schools. Your child may have mentioned that there will be a Talent Quest this term. This will be student run. To-wards the end of the term they will be able to perform what they have prac-tised. This will be judged and there will be some small prizes. So, please encourage your children to share their talents for our Mimi’s Got Talent Show. We have booked a visit to the TSB Showplace for the two junior classes on the third of June. Open Letter

Thank you to the amazing Mimi community for your incredible generosity over the last month. Your beautiful meals and play dates with Poppy have helped me/us get through such a heart-breaking time. Craig’s passing has been so hard to come to terms with but I can’t thank you enough for helping make it a bit more bearable. Yours, Sue-Darvill-Jackson

Centenary Booklet -

Thank you Letters

It is great to see some letters coming back in response to the letters some of the senior children wrote, which were inserted into the Centenary booklets. Here’s a few snippets: “… I had a lovely time talking to a lot of people who I hadn’t seen for a long time. I didn’t get any scones as I was too busy talking. … Sincerely yours, Great-Grandad Jim Herbert” “… Along with my brothers and sister I travelled to school on a very crowded bus. Standing room only. Literally! We got to school about 8.30am, so there was time to play a game of bull rush, my favourite game. We played using

the whole rugby field and at times, especially lunchtime, almost the whole school was involved. I had a wonderful childhood and Mimi School was a major part of that. I would not change a single day of it. ... Regards and best wishes, Bill Girling” “… I did enjoy the celebrations and loved the singing you all did on Saturday. I have read the book quickly and am now reading it again, chuckling over the stories from past teachers and pupils … Yours sincerely, Anne Eustace”
