Growing importance of Kazakhstan and Central Asia to the international investors and miners

• Central Asia and Kazakhstan (as the largest economy in the region) are the World’s largest frontier under-explored markets which in the near future will be contributing to the world-class mineral discoveries.

• Kazakhstan, has the world’s largest uranium and chromium reserves and substantial copper, iron ore, zinc and gold deposits. Despite its potentials, Kazakhstan receives less than 1 percent of global investment in metals exploration.

• Less than 15%* of Kazakhstan’s explored metals reserves are currently in production, official data show, with only 75 of 282 identified gold deposits and 19 of 55 iron ore deposits in operation.

• Kazakhstan offers potential investors educated work force, political stability, developed infrastructure, cheaper utilities and relatively mild climate condi-tions.

• Close proximity and historic trade links with China and major Asian consumers offer additional benefits to investors planning to start projects in Central Asia.

• FTSE 100 as well as listed international junior mining companies have been successfully devel-oping projects and investing in Kazakhstan and other Central Asia states.

• Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian states are presently revising more relaxed terms to international investors interested in develop-ing Greenfield and Brownfield Mineral projects.

• Major developments which will ensure long term sustainable economic growth of the region include Silk Route trade and infrastructure devel-opment, creation of Customs Union and Eura-sian Economic Union with Russia and Belarus, accession of Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to the WTO.

• Kazakhstan is actively developing its Capital Markets and Stock Exchange which will create greater liquidity and provide capital for local mining IPOs.
