SPIROMETER MICRO LABWe are very pleased to report that, following the presentation

of the equipment to the surgery before Christmas, it is in constantuse at the surgery, saving patients valuable time and expense bynot having to travel to hospital for such an appointment.

So once again, we would like to thank everyone for theirsupport, generosity and kind donations, which enabled us to achieveour target so far ahead of schedule.

PARKING DIFFICULTIES AND TRAVEL SURVEYWith the continual difficulties being experienced by those

using the surgery car park, a survey will be held to help identifythe most practical solutions to the problems being caused. Severalproposals have been suggested, but we feel it is important that ourpatients are given the opportunity to express their views and putforward their suggestions.

Therefore, during the next few weeks, a questionnaire will begiven to all patients who attend for an appointment and we askeveryone to spend a few minutes completing the survey.

****Please remember – It is your surgery and you all deserve to have your say!****

In the meantime we would ask patients to only use the carpark when extremely necessary and try to use the village car parksor other on-street parking, especially on the occasions when thereare “Mobile Health or Scan Units” operating in the car park.

Thank you for your help, co-operation and above all, patience!

SURGERY TRAINING DAYSPlease note that the surgery will close at 12.00noon on the

following days for the purpose of staff training:Tuesday February 21st and Thursday 15th MarchShould you need to see a doctor during these times then please

call “Doctors on Call” via the normal surgery number – 821333.Or you can also call “NHS Direct” on 0845 46 47 for confidentialhealth advice and information for you and your family. Thankyou.

PATIENT GROUP MEETINGAt the time of “going to press” the date of February’s meeting

had yet to be finalized, so in the meantime, if you have any issuesyou would like to raise or require further information on any ofthe above, then please contact:

KEN SELF on 821200 or JEAN TAYLOR on 845072And Finally!

As this is the first issue of “Minster Matters” in 2012 wewould like to wish all our Patients and friends

EDITORIALWelcome to our first issue of 2012, and the

first one ever printed in Litho print. Let’s hopeit looks as good if not better than previousissues.

We’ve struggled this month to get in asmuch as we could of everything that we’vereceived that’s why it’s another 32 page issue,so if we’ve left anything out then we apologise.

What an exciting day I had on Saturday 21st

February, firstly I joined over 140 others to‘walk’ the new tunnel under the railway atCliffsend, then this afternoon I attended myfirst ever beetle drive and came away theoverall winner with a tin of Roses chocolatesfor my efforts.

The walk this morning was quite pleasant even though it wasblowing quite hard….dull and windy when we set off on foot fromthe Minster side, only to find it still windy but actually quite sunnyon the Ramsgate side. (Couple of pictures on page 30)

Earlier this week I inveigled an invite to McDonalds on themorning Sir Roger Gale was present, thanks to our Carnival Queen,Clara, who also told me her sister Molly was going to be there in herrole as Miss Kent Galaxy, so thank you Clara, Molly and your Mumespecially for the much needed coffee when I arrived. Havingjoined in with the photo shoot I then received a conducted tour ofthe premises plus the added bonus of having a free breakfast wrapand a coffee.

We are again looking for one or two volunteers to join our teamsee my plea on page 14 of this issue.

The office opening went well and I have written some thankyou’s elsewhere in this issue, however I forgot to say a special thankyou to my Uncle who kindly made us a stand for the braille

embosser at such short notice, so thank you Ron it was much appreciated and itdoes the job just fine.

Space is limited this month so here’s just wishing you all a very Happy NewYear, see you again next month. Usual final question…Where’s Zac ??

KAREN’S RECOUNT ON CHRISTMAS 2011Christmas TreesOnce again they went up and they came down. No, the magic fairy didn’t wave her magic wand, but Karen did, and the usual group of

volunteers turned out for two mornings of twiddling and untwiddling, climbing ladders and braving the needles.Thank you all so much, such a small group of people (some of whom are from out of the village) making such a big difference in the village. Also thanks to Clive Attwell for hosting the ‘event’ and Roy Bailey who took the trees to Howletts for the primates to eat and play with.A huge thank you to Roger Thomson who checks every set of lights and keeps them working throughout the Christmas period, you’re an

absolute star.Any business who haven’t yet paid for their tree please see Karen in Attwells. Finally thanks to Envy for their donation and all who contributed in the collection tin in Attwells.

Late Night ShoppingLuke Lucas, accompanied by Miss Minster and her Princesses, started off the official countdown to Christmas in the village at Late Night

Shopping by switching on the New Inn lights, followed by carols sung beautifully by Minster School Choir. A big thanks to them and MrsHorton for making us so proud of our school.

Minster Salvation Army followed this by playing carols for the crowd.Minster Mayhems and their guests entertained the crowds waiting to visit Santa in his Grotto.Huge thanks to Margaret and Jack for supplying and decorating the Grotto and thanks to

Santa for fitting us into his busy schedule.None of this would happen without all these people giving up their time and the businesses

opening to provide another one of Minster’s Special Events.Thank you to you all.

And FinallyKaren and Jenny would like to thank everyone for their Christmas presents, Christmas box

and cards, and wish all their customers (friends) a very happy and healthy new year.

MINSTER APPEARS TO BE LOSING ITS VILLAGE IDENTITY TO BIGBUSINESS - A Reader’s View

Within the past few years we have seen the building of two hotels, a garage that sellsexpensive fuel and foodstuffs, and now a drive in McDonald’s.

Already McDonald’s litter is turning up in my garden after just a week of the establishmentbeing open.

I object to being forced to endure the fallout from greedy businesses with nothing morethan profit in mind.

(Name and address supplied)Editors note: Having spoken to the Manager, he has said to me that if anyone sees litter

that is obviously from McDonalds, anywhere in the village, then he wants to know about itand he will send someone out to clear it up. For myself, I have personally seen their litter

picking patrols out in Tothill St doing a tremendous job on numerous occasions this firstweek of their trading, and they were picking up everything not just McDonald's rubbish!!

Whilst I can sympathise with the reader’s view, everyone of those businesses are givingemployment to people from Minster and the local area and whilst technically they are inMinster they are far enough out not to have had any visual impact on the village itself. Noneof us will ever stop progress and like it or not it is now there and we have to live with it, solet's try to welcome them into our community, rather than bicker about rubbish, after all itisn't McDonalds that are throwing it everywhere it is the general public just like ourselveswho are the culprits.

From a concerned resident -Just to let residents of Minster know that a ‘fake charity’ is collecting in Minster. They aredistributing genuine looking collection bags (one of which I received today -see picture). They are white with Pink writing on them and use a Pink ribbon similar to that used forgenuine Breast Cancer charities. This is aprivate company called “Intersecond Ltd”and various trading standards departmentshave never been able to track down anycharitable status in Lithuania. The bestadvice I have read is to turn the bag insideout and give any unwanted items to agenuine local charity! There is plentyabout this ‘fake charity’ on the Internetshould you wish to satisfy yourself. (name and address supplied)

Editor’s note: We checked with Thanet District Council to see if ‘Intersecond Ltd’ arelicensed for house to house collection in this area and the Regulatory Services Managerconfirmed that they are.So legally they are doing nothing wrong but morally their work is more questionable.

THANK YOU FROM BOB GROVEI wish to thank all the loyal customers that I have had the pleasure of meeting over the

past 10 years. As much as I am looking forward to my retirement, I felt rather sad at thefinal closure of The Attic. Minster has been great and the people have been very good tome, thank you all very much. I also thank Jim and Lorraine. They gave me loyalty andalways willing to step in at short notice, I could not have continued for as long withoutthem.

I was pleased to pass on the pet food side of the business to Greens of Minster, I knowso many pet owners will be glad to still be able to get their pet food in the village, also thewild bird seed.

My retirement does not mean that I will be idle, far from it. The District Council keepsme very busy. I am always available on my mobile 07711774262, or via the Parish Counciloffice on 821339 where instead of monthly surgeries I will make appointments as and whenI am contacted regarding any issues you may wish to discuss.

I will also continue with the clock repairs. Again, you can contact me on my mobile07711774262 and I can give a quote on repairs, cleaning and servicing with collection anddelivering. Thank you everyone for your loyal custom, I will miss chatting with you on adaily basis, but I know I will see you very often in the village.

Happy new year to you all from Bob, Jim and Lorraine.

CHRISTMAS THANKS FROM REV’D BOB COLESI would like to give a big “thank you” to everyone who helped make our celebrations

of Christmas such wonderful occasions.First of all to those who supported the Gift Service. This year, we again collected

Thanks to the Margate SalvationArmy Band for playing at the Lychgate , the School Choir for singing to us, Roy Baileyfor the P.A. system, Jonathan Cole for the lights and those who provided drinks and mincepies afterwards. £200 was collected on behalf of the RNLI.

Thanks too to all who came to our Christingle Service, Christmas Eve Special, MidnightMass or Christmas Morning Communion.

SHEPWAY LIFELINE

SHEPWAY Lifeline was established in 1982 to give added security to residents in theShepway area.

Since that time Shepway Lifeline has grown into a telecare service provider withclients throughout Kent. Lifeline is a fully accredited and innovative 24/7 monitoringcentre supplying all facets of telecare alarms, including care and security solutions forvulnerable individuals, lone workers and local businesses. The service is run from acontrol centre in the Civic Centre in Folkestone. There is also a team of mobileengineers that travel to wherever they are needed in the county.

Shepway Lifeline holds full Telecare Services Association Accreditation and, thecontrol centre offers monitoring and reporting services to both public and private sectors. There was a major expansion in 2008 when Shepway Lifeline was successful in its bidto win the contract to monitor Kent County Council’s Whole System Demonstratorprogramme. The tender was won against Europe wide competition.

Shepway Lifeline is a not-for profit service working alongside care and healthservices and Kent Police to provide community alarms and public safety.

The primary product is the Lifeline alarm, which provides peace of mind for its valuedclients and their loved ones. The high quality standards coupled with the lowest pricesin Kent (still under £3.00 per week) remains the secret of its success and, for the futureit intends to keep pace with ever-changing technology while maintaining a first-classservice delivery and keeping costs low in these uncertain economic times.

If you are interested in having a Lifeline or, if you know somebody that would benefitfrom this service, we would like to hear from you. We will happily visit the potentialservice user, give them a free demonstration and if it is acceptable, we can leave thealarm in place and protect them immediately.

MINSTER-IN-THANET WIAt the busy January meeting, after paying their annual subscriptions and

receiving their programmes for the year, members listened to a very detailedillustrated talk by midwife Kate Humphreys, describing the voluntary work done withcolleagues to improve midwife services in a remote area of Ethiopia, where support formany mothers is extremely primitive or non-existent, resulting in high mortality rates forboth mothers and babies.

Members voted to support a resolution at the East Kent WI Annual Council Meetingin March calling on all cyclists to wear safety helmets and high visibility clothing.

Details were given of some extra events and outings, including a Wine and Wisdomevening on Saturday March 10th in the village hall.

Minster Matters ……We are in need of recruiting a volunteer who is computer literate and would be willing to learn howto use Serif Pageplus, or someone who already knows a bit about this software, to come and join our small team as a co-editor andhelp with the final layout of the magazine prior to publication.

If you are interested you would need to be available most of the time over each publication weekend, that is the weekend of eachmonth, except December, that follows the 3rd Friday, and maybe one or two evenings of the week leading up to that time.

It is not an arduous task, in fact it can be quite rewarding, but it can also be a bit of a lengthy process, ensuring that as much of thecopy we receive is published each month and the layout follows a set pattern (or as close to as is possible)

Amy, who does most of it, more or less singlehandedly, at present, with some supporting input from the Editor, is about to take ona lot more out of hours work to advance her career and therefore cannot guarantee being able to give us the time we need to completethe magazine by our deadline each month.

Amy is quite willing to train up a new recruit (or two) so you wouldn’t be expected to jump straight in at the deep end, and she’llalways be on hand afterwards to assist where she can, so you won’t be completely cast adrift to flounder and panic.

We can’t offer you any pay, but we can offer you a great team to work with all of whom are willing to help out as and when necessary.Interested? Then please contact Amy (co-editor) or Ray (editor) directlyemail: [email protected] or [email protected] You don’t actually need to have access to a computer at home as we offer that facility, for use at our office, above the library.

I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to all who donated towards the

sponsored triathlon that I completed on 22nd October to raise money for the St.

Thomas Lupus Trust, CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and to help fund my

participation in a project teaching disadvantaged children in Cambodia.

I completed the three stages of the triathlon as follows: 400m swim in 15.42 (in

Whitstable), 5km cycle in 15.57 (from Reculver) and 2.5km run in 15.52 (to Minnis

Bay). To date, I have successfully raised £468 that is going to be split between the

three causes – Thank you so much! The generosity I have encountered has been

astounding!

I have just returned from Cambodia – Alongside working in the classroom, I also

taught dance classes for the children and helped with arts and crafts. It was an

Page 17: Minster Matters Issue 133 February 2012

Minster Matters 17February 2012

immensely enlightening experience! I only hope that I made as much of an impact

on the people out there as they did on me. Cambodia is a beautiful country with

highly resilient, warm and friendly people.

The school I taught at alongside other volunteers is called SHCC (Self Help

Community Centre) and is a Non Government Organisation that provides a safe

environment for over 1000 disadvantaged children and young adults in the Kro Bei

Riel Community, Siem Reap, Cambodia. SHCC offers educational and vocational

opportunities including English classes, Pre-school programmes, organic farming,

arts and crafts, computer studies, sports education and education on hygiene.

Their aim is to continually explore ways to improve the quality of life and

prosperity for its residents. While out there I was lucky enough to hang out with

locals, with them teaching the other volunteers and myself as much Khmer as we

taught them English! I was also lucky enough to be invited to a local wedding, which

was an experience that will never be forgotten. Cambodians like their music loud,

are incredibly friendly even to people they have only just met, and they know how to

party! Take a look at the photos here! With immense thanks, Katie

On Tuesday 20th December 2011we found that our metal shed had beenbroken into, nothing was taken and itwas believed to be opportunists whomaybe thought we kept alcohol there asthe empty bottles are stored outside ofthere.

On the following Wednesdayevening, 28th December there was abirthday party at the restaurant, we wentto bed at about 1a.m. In the morningmy mother noticed that my car driver’swindow was smashed (it was in our carpark under the street light), on furtherinvestigation, the sat nav had beenstolen. Police were informed.

About half hour later I was lookingfor my van keys which were not wherethey had been left on the hook. Whilewe were looking for them, I noticed thatthe float cash box behind the bar hadgone. We then stopped everything andhad a good look around. The van andcar keys had been stolen, the MP4player and the float tin containing £200.£70 that had been left under a glassbehind the bar, the tips money (we

believe to have been about £100 andapproximately £60-£70 Christmaspudding money. But the worst bit of allwas that they stole a box with £160 thatwas the Hospice Raffle money, theyclearly knew what this was for as theraffle ticket book was in it and the raffleprizes were still on the shelf awaitingcollection.

Police came and we were advisedby a witness that two people were seenbeside my car at 1.30a.m on theThursday morning, following two loudbangs being heard - it is unfortunate thatthey did not ring the Police or contactus.

The empty box for the raffle moneywas found in a garden, some keys andother odd bits found in the driveway ofthe Old Vicarage, a tin of sweets foundin the grounds of The Old Chapel andanother few items found that were takenaway for forensic evidence.

There were guests in both roomsthat night but unfortunately no oneheard anything to be able to alert us tothis. To say we are disappointed is an

understatement, it is the most awfulfeeling to know that someone has beenin your property when you are in bed -it is like Fort Knox now.

However, we have beenoverwhelmed with the support andgenerosity of villagers, particularly thenew Landords of The Bell, Chris andKaren who very kindly donated asubstantial sum from their own moneyto our Charity. Another neighbour, who will know who they are, whosekindness brought Liz to tears. Peoplehave come in making donations to theraffle money, buying more raffle ticketsand donating prizes.

We thank each and every person fortheir kindness during this time andrestoring our faith in our village. Thepeople who have done this, know whatthey have done and I pray to god thatthey are never in a position when theyor someone they love is in need of theservices of the Pilgrims Hospice thatthey so callously stole from.

the county at the England finals in March, where she will compete against finalists from across the UK.Galaxy Pageants UK is the second largest, fastest growing and most inclusive competition of it's kind, expecting finalists

BREAK-INS AT MORTON’S FORK

Page 19: Minster Matters Issue 133 February 2012

A few months ago I discovered thatyear 2011 denoted 100 years of footballin Minster.

Mr Lou Hammond showed me aphotograph of the 1949/50 team andpointed out who they were. I was only6 at the time but I did recognise oneplayer, my uncle Sid Downs, who livedin Monkton Road. The players werewearing their kit but three others werewearing coat and hat. One of these wasthe team cartoonist. He drew a weeklyposter which was displayed in thewindow of the barber, Doug Kirk, orthat of the ladies hairdresser. Can youimagine Manchester United having acartoonist and players looking to see ifthey had been picked for the next game?As one gets older it is sometimesamazing how one can recall trivia fromyears before but cannot recall moresignificant events.

Mr Hammond told me a tale aboutmy uncle. They were playing in animportant match with Mr Hammond ascentre half and Sid elsewhere indefence. Lou saw it as his role tomarshal the defence and as such thismeant a fair amount of calling out. Atsome point Sid responded with "whydon't you give it a rest" There was norancour here but it has beenremembered from 60 years ago.

Before the start of the 1959/60season a youth team was started, largelyat the initiative of Mr Razzell althoughI vaguely recall a Scotsman who helped. It was clearly an idea whose time hadcome. Training was the order of the day.A lot of use was made of the recreationground and several of us made use ofthe light summer evenings by cyclingup to RAF Manston for a kickaboutwith some RAF personnel who hadreached lower league status beforejoining up. Our kit duly arrived and inmy opinion was so snazzy that anyopposition would think we weresuperstars. As I recall it was similar to

Newcastle United kit which was whiteand black.

Our first game was against a youthclub from Ramsgate. Their goalkeeper,Cliff Harwood, was a school friend ofmine. Now here is some trivia from 50years ago. Their football captain wasquite short with a boyish face. He turnedup on a motor scooter. It was neither aVespa nor a Lambretta but was a palegreen German model that used a rockerpedal to change gear. Why I rememberthis I shall never know.

At the start of the game there was aceremonial kick off where Mr Razzelltapped the ball from the centre spot to MrAttwell. I do not remember everyone whoplayed and unfortunately I do not knowif there is a photograph. If one exists Iwould really like a copy.

In goal we had the very agileYaroslav Besprato. At left back was AlanRazzell. At right half was myself, JohnRhodes. I was delighted to be in the teambecause at my school, Chatham House,we did not play football. Perhaps theythought it was for the plebs. Somewhereelse in the defence was Ken Liliot. Downthe middle, at either centre half or centreforward, was Ray Razzell. I thought hewas our best all round player. PhilipSackett was one of the inside forwards.I recall Peter Osborne being on the rightwing but I cannot remember if that wasin the inaugural game. Likewise, BusterBaker who was somewhere up front. Asthe game progressed it was clear we hadtheir measure. We were pressing theirgoalmouth when the ball bounced out tome. I put in a low shot that went under thediving body their goalkeeper. I reallysavoured that moment. We did win thegame but the only other thing I rememberwas my school friend saying to me as wecame off the pitch "you have beaten usbut you won’t beat Ramsgate Sportingyouth club" This turned out to be truealthough I cannot recall any detail.

The only other game I recall wason a cold day in the winter when weplayed on either the Betteshanger or theSnowdon Colliery pitch. There was acovered stand for spectators situatedmid-way along the length of one side. There had been a hard frost the previousnight but the weak winter sun hadthawed out the pitch by the starting timewhich would have been around 1pm.However, the sun is low in winter andit turned out that the shadow cast by thiscovered stand had prevented the pitchfrom thawing in one strip. Playing onor crossing in and out of this area madelife difficult. We had a surprise to learnthat there were two or three talentscouts on the touchline. They wereinterested in the goalkeeper of ouropponents. The average age of ourrivals was perhaps two or three yearsolder than us. This was self evident butI recall we set about them with vigour.I cannot recall the score or any specificdetail, but the scouts were impressedenough to come over to Minster on thefollowing Sunday to watch us play.

The outcome was that Ray andYaroslav went up WolverhamptonWanderers for a trial and I had thoughtKen Liliot went for a trial at Gillinghambut a few months ago a member of thefamily told me they knew nothing aboutit. Let me put it down to imperfectmemory and add it to my earliermemory of trivia. Neither Ray norYaroslav got in but the whole YouthTeam effort was a huge event for avillage of the size of Minster at thattime.

That was the end of myinvolvement because my family movedout of the area. I hope there are somepeople around who remember the team.Did it last for example? Have you anymemories of that first year? Let us hopeso. John Rhodes, formerly of 2Prospect Rd and 5 Kenton Gardens.

FOOTBALL IN MINSTER

An Unfortunate Resident of Minster writes:Unfortunately the roof on my convertible mini cooper was slashed by some unknown individuals around the early hours

of Monday morning. My husband and I were away overnight and as they only stole the vehicle service book (and left allpersonal items behind) it would appear to have been a targeted theft.

We are still waiting to hear from the local police although CSI has been out to dust for prints. With this reckless act of vandalism and that of the theft at Morton’s Fork may we remind residents to contact the Police

should they become suspicious of any unusual activity within the village. Working together we can beat crime.

THE LATE

Frank GillettThank you to all Frank’s friends of Minster for joining all my family in the

Celebration of Frank’s life at St. Mary’s Church on December 9th. Looking down on us on that special day Frank would be filled withamazement. We have lived in Minster all our life and loved every

minute of it..Thank You again for the kindness shown to Frank when we walked in

the village in the late stages of his dementia when he did not recogniseold friends, also for your support for me now I have a life without my

husband of 58 years.Minster is still a very special village.

Love to you all - Pam Gillett.2P/6

Thanks from Minster Matters…. we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the HorticulturalSociety for their very generous donation of £100 towards our running costs. It was very gratefully received by all members ofthe editorial team. The editor and his wife were honoured to be invited to the Societies Christmas party where they acceptedthe cheque on behalf of the team. Again thank you all so much.

Without advertising revenue and donations such as this we would be unable to bring you the magazine on a regular basis, free of charge. So every donation no matter how large or how small all goes toward keeping us afloat and delivering a new copyto you all each month. Thank you to everyone who have made donations to us over the past year we really do appreciate your

kindness and generosityThank you also to all those who came along to one of our Office Opening events inDecember, it was good to see so many faces and we enjoyed your company and yourinterest in what we do. Thank you also to Marvyn Attwell who kindly stepped in atvery short notice and cut the ribbon for us. To those of you who didn’t manage to getthere, we can confirm the cake was delicious as were the sausage rolls and mince pies.

LeprechaunsLeprechauns are people who dress in green and have a hatwhich looks like a beer bottle. Their lucky symbol is a cloverleaf and St Patrick’s Day is to celebrate their being. They areoriginally from Ireland but supposedly mythical creatures.Leprechauns are meant to be fairy shoemakers, but they onlymake one shoe. Leprechauns are believed to look aged, andthere is a myth about them having a pot of gold at the end ofthe rainbow. It is believed that if you take your eye off onethen he and his gold will disappear forever.

Santa`s visit to MinsterToday was magical, head of houses and perfects or should Isay prefects, met Santa clause. He told we were all very goodand if we keep it up we will have Christmas presents as big asthe Christmas tree! He told us that he saw Robert Wellardwaiting at the window for a glimpse of him.Any way he did come for a reason and his reason was: Allaround Minster many of the public had been very generous togo and spend their money on presents for the less fortunatepeople and we got to place them on his sleigh ready for all thegirls and boys.So all of Minster and all those children and Santa need to saya massive THANK YOU so here you go THANK YOU to thoseindividuals and the public

The School Christmas Fayre The Christmas Fayre is where the whole school were invitedto a Fayre that is held in the school. They didn’t have to go ifthey didn’t want to. There wass a Santa’s grotto where yougot a present and a picture. My Mum was doing drinks andfood, in the hall. Also in the hall was a raffle, a bouncy castle, candy floss and popcorn. In red class you could decorateChristmas signs and little clay models and you can get normaltattoos or glitter ones (you could chose which type and thetype of picture). In Indigo class there were lots of prizes to bewon and lots of things to buy. So if you missed it you shouldhave come to the school Christmas Fayre on the 1st December.

Dogs and CatsDogs and cats are so so so so so so cute because they areplayful. With cats you can hold them and dogs you can playgames with, like throw a ball. You can go to the park withthem. And cats go out by themselves and run around cats anddogs are so cute. Dogs and cats are cute.

My Ballet ShowMy show is on the last weekend in February, at the WinterGardens. It is fun and fabulous. I practice all day and every daythat’s all I like to do.In ballet you go on your very tip toes but you have to put yourballet shoes and your leotard on, otherwise you get told off.
