Finger Play | $299 This occupational therapy group is a great way for children to work on fine motor skills through fun games. Some gross motor play will be incorporated to get the wiggles and squiggles out. Mondays from 3:30-4:30. Individual Music Lessons | $299 Private ½ hour sessions to learn to play the keyboard, guitar, or to practice singing. Mondays or Tuesdays, by appointment. Call for availability. Individual Music Therapy | $65 per 30 minutes Students work with a certified music therapist to improve upon parent-directed goals. Call for times and days. Private therapies are also available by appointment. School-Age ServicesSocial Skills And Therapy GroupsNEW! One 12-Week Session Begins January 26, 2015.

Self-Regulation Training for Children with ADHD | $599Using a cognitive behavioral approach, a therapist works in a small group setting with two children close in age who have ADHD. Goals are to improve compliance, impulsivity, or the ability to get along with others. Classes meet for one hour weekly for 12 weeks and parents also receive four private parent coaching sessions with the therapist during the 12 week session.

Social Pragmatic Skills Training | $399Using Michele Garcia Winner’s Think Social Curriculum, students ages 5-18 learn to share space with others, think about others in the shared environment, and self-regulate behaviors. Training includes direct instruction, play-based activities, modeling, and social stories to reinforce the “skill of the day” in a small group. Ten minutes of sensory diet is incorporated into each session. Parents attend the last 10 minutes of class to learn how to reinforce the lessons learned. Classes meet for one hour weekly for 12 weeks.

The Girl’s Group | $399Junior high school-age girls who have ADHD or high functioning autism learn coping skills to deal with issues such as making and keeping friends, practicing social communication skills, keeping up grades, dealing with peer pressure, body image, boyfriends, and other girl-related topics. Come join other girls, make friends, and learn new ways to deal with life stresses. Classes meet for one hour weekly for 12 weeks.

Test Anxiety and Stress Coping Strategies Group | $399Learn new stress reduction techniques through Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy, an empirically-based treatment approach to deal with anxiety. Classes meet for one hour weekly for 12 weeks.

NEW! :: Parent Group Coaching SessionsTuesdays 6:30-7:30 | $25 per person per sessionJoin other parents and a licensed professional to discuss issues that are affecting your child. Attend one or all of the groups listed below. Childcare for toilet-trained children age 3 and older is included in the price of the class. Please RSVP to 314.961.1500 at least one week prior to each session. Payment is due at the time of the reservation and refunds will only be given if the class is cancelled.

February 3 | Managing the ADHD Child with Oppositional BehaviorsBarriers to socialization and oppositional behaviors that often accompany ADHD will be discussed. Talk about what works and what reinforces the wrong behaviors. Learn how to de-escalate situations with your child and not to get pulled into power struggles. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker will facilitate the group.

February 10 | Nutrition and Dietitian Consult for Feeding IssuesDiscuss how feeding and nutrition issues affect your child. A certified and licensed nutritionist and dietitian will lead the group and answer questions.

February 17 | Parent Stress with 24/7 Care of Children with AutismTalk about stressors that you are experiencing taking care of a child with special needs. Learn strategies from other parents and the Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will facilitate the group.

February 24 | Academic Struggles with a Child who has a Learning DisabilityTired of fighting with your child to get homework done? Having a hard time coming up with strategies to help your child be successful at school? Come and discuss these issues with a special education certified teacher.

Private Dietitian and Nutrition ConsultationFood is not only for sustenance, but can actually be a more enjoyable experience for children. Our licensed and registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN), who is also a parent of a child with special needs, can help make mealtimes peaceful, improve food selections, and help to avoid eating struggles. Sessions can take place in our offices or your home. Call for pricing and availability.

4:00-5:00 or 5:00-6:00 Non-competitive Sports | $299 (No class 3/24)Now offered at 2 time slots! Learn to play hockey, soccer, basketball, and other games during scrimmages. This is perfect for the athlete who likes to play on a team but does not like the stress of competition.

5:00-6:00 | Expanding the Palate | $299Join a registered dietitian in this hands-on group that combines food play with exploring new food textures, colors, aromas, temperatures, shapes, sounds, and eventually flavors. Students will sample new food choices for school lunches and after-school snacks to expand the palate and will also learn about healthy eating habits. A perfect class for the picky eater with sensory issues.

6:00-7:00 | Adapted Dance | $299 Be amazed at the complex choreography your child will learn and perform! Our dance instructor works especially well with children who have learning challenges. Come and see your child perform after each session.

WEDNESDAYS (no class 1/28, 3/4 or 3/18)3:30-4:30 or 4:30-5:30 | Cooking with Candy | $299 Now offered at 2 time slots! Practice making different types of candy and sweets in Miriam’s new teaching kitchen. Indulge your sweet tooth and bring home some delicious delicacies.

THURSDAYS (no class 2/19 or 3/19)3:30-4:30 | Book Club | $299 Read and discuss exciting new books voted on by the Book Club. This is a perfect club for the avid reader. Club members must purchase their own books to read or get books from the library.

3:30-4:30 | Building Legos | $299Build theme-based projects with your friends using hundreds of Legos and have free time to use your own imagination.

3:30-4:30 | Expanding the Palate | $299Join a registered dietitian in this hands-on group that combines food play with exploring new food textures, colors, aromas, temperatures, shapes, sounds, and eventually flavors. For children ages 5 to 18. Classes encourage social interaction, making friends, and having fun! Children can start classes after January if space is available.

MONDAYS (no class 2/16 or 3/16)3:30-4:30 | Chess Class | $40*St. Louis Chess Club instructor guides this great club for novices and experts. *Sponsored through the generosity of a private benefactor.

3:30-8:00 | Music Lessons by Appointment | $299Private ½ hour sessions in electronic keyboarding, guitar, or singing with instructors experienced working with children with learning challenges.

4:30-5:30 | Computer Keyboarding | $299Learn to type accurately and quickly with an individualized interactive typing program. Occupational therapy staff will help improve hand muscle movement. Sensory breaks will be given during each hour session. Suitable for children of all ages.

TUESDAYS (no class 3/17)3:30-8:00 | Music Lessons by Appointment | $299Thirty-minute private lessons in electronic keyboarding, guitar, or singing with a music therapist experienced working with children with learning challenges.

4:00-5:00 | Gaming Group | $299Play BeyBlades, Bakugon, Pokemon, and board games in this fun gaming group. The group picks the weekly activity. Learn to win and lose graciously.
