VectorBase holds information about mtDNA sequence for Anophelines and both the 2 major subfamilies of ticks Ixodidae & Argassidae.

The respective sections provide the user with a compilation of mtDNA sequences for the relevant species, as submitted to the EMBL nucleic acid sequence database by different authors.

Page 3: Mitochondrial Gene Browser

A text list and a diagram of the Anopheles gambiae mitochondrial genes.

The number in brackets reflects the different instances of the respective gene in the database, originating from different anophelines.

By selecting a gene in the previous list, you get all the instances (orthologs) of this gene from several species. The accession number leads to the genbank entry of the sequence and the last column displays the coordinates of the most significant HSP (High Scoring Pair) between the sequence and the complete mitochondrial genome of An. gambiae.

A list of Anopheles species including the 3-letter abbreviation.

The numbers in brackets reflect the number of mitochondrial sequences in the database from any particular species.

Page 6: Mitochondrial Gene Browser

A list of all mitochondrial genes of an anopheline species.

The accession number leads to the full genbank record

Last column displays the coordinates of the most significant HSP to the complete mitochondrial genome of Anopheles gambiae.
