For those arriving early enough we will have an informal gathering at Swanny City Park. We’ll meet at the skate park at the corner of 400 N. 100 W. From N. Main St. (highway 191) turn west and go one block. It will be ahead on your left. This will be a chance to do some trials warm up activities and to start meeting each other. If you want to ride your unicycles over from the Slickrock campground (it’s only about 1.4 miles, refer to Map 1 below). Do not turn right off 191 on to N. 5th West; stay on 191 till N. Mi VIDA Dr., then turn right. Continue to where it intersects Mi Vida Dr. and turn sharp left. The road will curve right then straighten and lead straight to the park (see map 1). Map 1. Friday, March 23rd 1:30 to 5 pm. Bartlett Wash Slickrock. This isn’t so much a trail ride as it is a large elevated Slickrock area where riders can explore a large but confined (drops on all sides) area of Slickrock to their hearts content. Max. distance in is only about 3 miles. Anywhere up on the Slickrock can be, and no doubt will be, ridden. This area provides a great intro to slickrock terrain and should be a blast for all levels of riders. Incredible trials opportunities abound. Directions to the Bartlett Wash trailhead:
• Beginning on Main St. (US Highway 191) and Center St. drive north out of Moab (towards Salt Lake City) and go approximately 17 miles and just shy of mile marker 143 turn left (west) on a poorly marked old dirt road (Blue Hills Road).
• Once on Blue Hills Road, go 2.2 to 2.4 miles to just after the road bends sharply right and turn left onto the double track.
• In another 0.8 miles you’ll come to a triple fork, again stay left. • Stay left again at the right going spur 0.2 miles later and use your cars momentum to pass down
and through the sandy crossing of the lower Barlett Wash. • As you next crest the hill coming out of the wash, take the right spur, which decends and
ultimately ends up back in the wash. • Travel another mile or so, basically in the wash, until you get to a fence or where the other cars
are lined up and pull in behind them along side the wash. Go through the gate and 200 feet up the wash. The ride starts up the rocks to your right.
Since the Parking situation will be tricky, first, try to car pool as much as possible to reduce the number of cars. Next, park only along one side of the road so that cars can get through. We will try to put some MMF markers to help guide you on this road but no promises (esp. if you get there before I do). No map included. Saturday, March 24th 9:00 - 11:30 am. Challenge Ride Competition. Meet at the Slickrock Trailhead parking before 9 am. and be ready to ride at 9 am. Directions to the Slickrock and Slickrock Practice trailhead parking (and in our case, the Fins ‘n Things parking, refer to Map 2):
• Start from Moab city center and while driving South on US-191 through Moab turn right (East) at 300 S. and continue East to 400 E (roads “Ts” here left or right).
• Turn right (South) and go about a ½ block then turn left (East again) at Dave’s Corner Market onto Mill Creek Drive.
• Proceed approximately 2.1 miles straight on through where this road turns into Sand Flats Road near the Southwest corner of the cemetery.
• You should now be in the hills at the Sand Flats Recreation Area entrance booth (tell them you are with the unicycle group, your entrance fees are pre-paid by your MMF registration)
• From the entrance booth to the Slickrock trailhead parking is another ½ mile or so. Turn left to enter the parking lot.
• There are bathrooms available at the Slickrock trailhead but no running water. Plan to bring your own water.

the Challenge Rides on Saturday Morning.
We will exit the parking at 9:00 am on our unicycles and ride up the Sandflats road about 1/4-1/2 mile where we will turn left (North) on to the Fins ‘n Things trail. We will proceed 3/4 mile further on the Porcupine rim trail to where at 9:30 am the Challenge Ride competition will take place. See Map 3.

11:30 on, Riders have a choice on continuing on to do more of the Fins ‘n Things trail or heading back to ride the 11 mile Slickrock Trail or the 2.4 mile Slickrock Practice loop. See Maps 2,3, & 4 for the options. For newer riders I recommend the 2.4 mile Slickrock practice loop. See Map 4.

Sunday, March 25th 9:30 am. Meet at the Pritchett Canyon Trailhead Parking. Same parking area as the Amasa Back single track trail return. This is a planned out-n-back ride to the top of Pritchett canyon, roughly 6 miles each way with a 4.2 mile each way option. In both cases you’ll be able to see Pritchett arch but by going the extra distance you can get close to it. You’ll definitely want to have a camera with you. Directions to trailhead:
• Drive to the McDonalds at the South end of town on Main St. (Highway 191) then turn West on to Kane Creek Rd and drive 4.5 miles.
• You’ll end up driving along side the Colorado river with breathtaking views. Just after passing the cattle guard veer right and park in the huge dirt parking along the right side the road.
The trail access is just back over the cattle guard and up to the right. There will be a sign asking you to donate money to the land owner whose land you will momentarily be crossing. I have already paid a group rate so simply pass on through. Both riding distance options are shown in Map 5 below.
