Description:
This world renowned auction house needed to update their existing storage system to house a growing number of bound catalogues, dating back to 1766. The challenge was to design a bespoke system that was sympathetic to the established surroundings and the needs of the client. The small space is underground and difficult to access meaning that the system supplied in K.D. format was perfectly compatible. Moduflex worked in partnership with Oracle Storage to design a robust mobile shelving system, giving full consideration to the size and weight of the stock, the available space, lighting conditions and the surroundings. Mobile shelving capacity is improved greatly by utilising every inch of available space, including alcoves in rear wall. The infill floor enables easy trolley access to the system and prevents potential trip hazards.

CASE STUDY

ChristiesThis world renowned auction house needed to update their existing storage system to house a growing number of bound catalogues, dating back to 1766.

The challenge was to design a bespoke system that was sympathetic to the established surroundings and the needs of the client. The small space is underground and difficult to access meaning that the system supplied in K.D. format was perfectly compatible.

A robust mobile shelving system was designed, giving full consideration to the size and weight of the stock, the available space, lighting conditions and the surroundings. The infill floor enables easy trolley access to the system and prevents potential trip hazards.

Walkway between shelves, enabling easy access to leather bound catalogues on either side.

Narrow mobile shelving housing large leather bound catalogues.

Mobile shelving capacity is improved by utilising every inch of available space, including alcoves in rear wall.

CUSTOMER COMMENT

“The new system is exactly what we needed at a time when space was becoming increasingly scarce. Despite some unique challenges around stock and space, the Moduflex team delivered a system that works with the space and for those using it on a day to day basis.”
