This presentation is applicable to:

Full time undergraduate students who:

• Are domiciled in Wales or England, and

• Are eligible for UK student support, and

• Are starting their studies in February 2013

• Have not studied previously at HE level

2012 Tuition Fees

University of Glamorgan

• Degree - £9,000* per yr

• Foundation Degree/HND - £7,500* per yr

*Expect an annual inflationary increase

Support for Tuition Fees

Students do not have to pay fees ‘up front’

Welsh students:

Tuition Fee Loan (£3,465)

Tuition Fee Grant (fees above £3,465)

English students:

Tuition Fee Loan (up to £9,000)

Previous study can affect eligibility to fee grant and loan.

Other Financial Support

• Special Support Grant.

• Parents Learning Allowance - £1,508.

• Childcare Grant – 85% of costs up to a maximum of

£161.50 per week for 1 child

£274.55 per week for 2 or more children

• Adults Dependants Grant - £2,647.

• Disabled Students Allowance.

Student Loan Repayment• Income contingent.• Threshold is £21,000 per year (if working in UK).• Interest set at rate of inflation + 3% whilst studying. After study

interest depends on level of salary. • Repayments are 9% of earnings over the threshold. • Collected through the tax system and calculated monthly.• Outstanding balance written off after 30 years.

Glamorgan Fast Track Undergraduate Bursary

• £1,500 towards the cost of your accommodation in your first year

• Must not be in receipt of the Welsh Government tuition fee grant

• Must reside at least 45 miles from the Treforest campus

• Must enrol on one of the 13 nominated courses

Glamorgan Fast Track Undergraduate Bursary

• Apply for the Bursary by 4pm Friday 11th January 2013 for BSc Aircraft Maintenance

• Apply for the Bursary by 4pm Friday 1st February 2013 for all other courses
