Honorary Chair—Valerie Arkoosh, MD

Dr. Valerie Arkoosh was unanimously elected as Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners on November 17, 2016. She has been engaged in public health policy development across all levels of government during her impressive career. She is a

nationally-recognized public health policy expert. Until recently, she was Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Arkoosh’s educational background propelled her into national prominence, and has given her a unique blend of public health, leadership, and medical expertise. She served for five years as Chair of Anesthesiology at the Drexel University College of Medicine where she successfully drew upon her undergraduate training in economics to restore her department to fiscal solvency. During this challenging time, she also served as Interim Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and was actively involved in the financial oversight of the medical school clinical practice plan.

Dr. Arkoosh is a longtime resident of Montgomery County, living with her husband and their three children.

Woman of Excellence—Kathleen Owens, PhD

Dr. Kathleen Owens has served as President of Gwynedd Mercy University since 2002. Under her leadership, Gwynedd-Mercy College transitioned to University status. Dr. Owens led the development of new academic programs at the undergraduate and

graduate level, including doctoral programs in Nursing and Education; online degree programs; and international programs. The University has experienced enrollment growth with the addition of new instructional locations in Center City Philadelphia, East Norriton, and Bensalem.

Dr. Owens currently serves on the Boards of the Association of Catholic Colleges & Universities and the American Council of Education’s Pennsylvania Women’s Network. She has previously held positions on boards focusing on higher education, athletics, and the homeless population.

Previously, Dr. Owens served as Vice President for academic affairs at Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, as well as dean and professor in the College of Arts & Sciences at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.

Nancy Dunleavy

Presenting on the topic of going Beyond Networking, Nancy Dunleavy is the Founder and CEO of Dunleavy & Associates, a woman-owned business empowering charitable organizations to achieve their fullest potential. She was named by LEADERSHIP Philadelphia as one of Philadelphia’s “Top 101 Connectors” by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of 25 Women of Distinction and one of the top 100 women-owned businesses for the past three years. She also was named a Philadelphia SmartCEO Brava! Awards winner.

Her career as an entrepreneur was preceded by more than twenty years in the healthcare business as a senior financial manager and hospital administrator. She served for ten years as CFO and then two years as the Senior Vice President for Corporate Development at Friends Hospital and Behavioral Health System. A committed and engaged community leader, Nancy serves as Chair on the Gwynedd Mercy University Board of Trustees, and on the LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Board of Directors, Treasurer of Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Trustees, and Board Vice-Chair of the Union League of Philadelphia.

Denise L. Devine, CPA, MBA, MST

Denise Devine has over 25 years of leadership experience in general management, operations and finance. Her experience spans from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations. Ms. Devine is Founder and CEO of FNB Holdings, LLC, a company dedicated to initiatives in the health and wellness space. She is also a Founder, CAO and CFO of RTM Vital Signs, LLC, and Founder and CEO of Nutripharm, Inc.

Ms. Devine’s prior business experience includes executive positions at Campbell Soup Company, Energy Solutions International and Arthur Andersen & Co. She has served on boards for Fulton Financial Corporation, Villanova University, Lourdes Health System, American Red Cross-SEPA, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, and The National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.

As a passionate children’s nutrition and health advocate, she is Chair of The Advisory Board of the MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Nutrition Education at Villanova University Nursing School as well as serving on many other health related boards and task forces. Ms. Devine has received numerous Honors and Awards including the “Best 50 Business Women in Pennsylvania” Governor’s Award and the Gold Medal Alumnae Award from Villanova University.

Patricia Angelozzi

Patty has more than 20 years in the financial services industry and is able to accommodate all of her client’s financial needs. Patty has just about done it all: retirement plan design, implementation and administration, client service associate with an independent insurance firm, risk analysis and holistic wealth management.

Patty takes a unique, holistic approach to financial planning that promotes a deep and ongoing relationship with her clients. This relationship allows her to cultivate an environment where she and her clients are able to create and maintain a realistic roadmap for their financial future.

Patty lives in West Norriton, PA with her husband Perry who runs his own DJ and Events company.

Jen Groover

Jen Groover has been tagged by SUCCESS Magazine as a “One-Woman Brand,” and “Creativity and Innovation Guru” and by Entrepreneur Magazine as a leading “Serial Entrepreneur.” Her name has become synonymous with innovation, entrepreneurship and evolution.

Jen’s influence and leadership has aligned her with brands, such as USANA Health Sciences, Avon, Verizon and SkyMall, for which Jen has had various roles as a spokeswoman and consultant. She also has connected with organizations such as Career Wardrobe, Wish Upon a Hero Foundation, Pride & Glory, Zee Mee, Vuid and Back on My Feet, for which Jen serves as a board member.

Jen’s success skyrocketed with the creation of the Butler Bag that became a multi-million dollar brand. Her passion for inspiring others to realize their greatest potential on all levels continues as the driving force behind her many successful brands including; Leader Girlz, Empowered by Jen Groover and the Empowered Economy Initiative.

Kim Huggins

Kim Huggins has a passion for driving business strategy while forming valuable relationships at all organizational levels. Her extensive experience, focus on execution and enthusiastic approach has helped to transform diverse companies in various industries, from Fortune 50 corporations to small startups.

Kim’s specialties include change execution, leadership development and coaching, organizational development and employee engagement. Prior to joining CLG, Kim was president and owner of a full-service consulting company specializing in organizational effectiveness, leadership development and team dynamics. She formerly served as director of talent management for Merck & Co., Inc. and a regional HR and labor relations advisor for Mobil Oil Corporation.

Kim earned a B.S. in Human Resource Management from Drexel University. A member of the Society of Human Resource Management, American Society for Training & Development and Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, Kim is also actively involved in various organizations that support the development of women leaders.

Theresa Hummel-Krallinger

Theresa Hummel-Krallinger is a well-respected corporate trainer and performance consultant specializing in employee engagement, leadership and high-potential development, change management strategies, board and leadership retreats or strategy sessions and creating a winning corporate culture.

However, it’s Theresa’s work as a humorist and motivational speaker that sets her apart. Her experience as a professional stand-up comedian enables her to add fun and humor to her consulting and training work. Theresa has over 25 years of business experience, having served in a number of leadership roles in the Fortune 100 Company.

A faculty member at Temple University, Theresa is also the President of High Five Performance, Inc. She has held leadership roles at Almac Clinical Technologies and Prudential Financial, and was the Board President for the Association for Talent Development (ATD).

Kristin Kane Ford

Kristin Kane Ford is the Director of Social Media with Kane Partners LLC. In 2010 the social media division was launched as an opportunity to collaborate, plan and train businesses on the use and implementation of social media platforms into their marketing. This included sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and blogging. Kristin’s focus is not only to provide the ‘how-to’ training but equally as important is to help a company build a manageable and working social media plan and strategy.

Kristin has been a returning special guest on NBC10s ‘Survive and Thrive’ with Tracy Davidson as a subject-matter-expert providing career advice for job seekers and social media tips for business. Kristin can be seen across the Philadelphia region and nationally speaking on various topics including LinkedIn, Facebook, Social Media, Networking and Career/Job related topics.

Kristin is a graduate of Fairfield University. When she is unplugged from technology and social media you can find her taking photographs, enjoying a latte or spending quality time with her husband and their two sons.

Susan Redding, MBA, SPHR

Susan draws upon 20 years of professional experience in program design and delivery. She works with MidAtlantic Employers’ Association’s 500 plus member companies to enhance their systems and improve their business results. Her experience includes training and consulting for CIGNA International, Canon Financial and Temple Health Systems. Her expertise is in partnering with leaders of organizations to develop in-house talent and to strategically affect corporate culture.

Individuals and organizations have benefited from her high impact approach to training, instructional design and interactive facilitation skills. She has designed and implemented various programs in leadership, emotional intelligence, customer service, interpersonal skills and conflict management, just to name a few.

Susan has earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation and enjoys teaching in the Human Resource Area as well.

Welcome to Our Special Guests The PennSuburban Chamber of Greater Montgomery County is committed to supporting young women as future leaders. Embracing this philosophy, we have invited local high school seniors to participate at the conference as they are guided by their business mentors. The mentors were paired with their students based on career aspirations and their community service experience. Our goal is to inspire the high school girls by introducing them to this unique conference and connecting them with leading women entrepreneurs in our community.
