STEWARDSHIP SHARING TIME, TALENT AND
TREASURE
PENTECOST SUNDAY
Dear Friends,
We began our quarantine just before Holy Week and now at the end of our Easter Season, we are coming out, albeit slowly, into the sun of freedom!
This has been a time of testing for us, a time of unique opportunities to find God in the Domestic Church of our homes and a time to reflect on our lives and how we live them.
The Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of John narrate different accounts of the Holy Spirit coming to the Apostles. Though the narratives differ, in each the Apostles were transformed by their encounter.
As we listen to the holy scriptures being proclaimed verbally today, we should open our hearts in our willingness to be transformed by the same Spirit and pray that the Church may be transformed with us by the myriad Gifts the Holy Spirit imparts even to us today. These gifts of the Holy Spirit sanctify our lives and renew the face of the earth.
Having the honor of bearing Christ through the streets of our parish, I am filled with such enthusiasm as I witness families gathering on their lawns waiting for Jesus to bless them. Thank you for your hospitality in receiving Him so warmly and reverently.
With great excitement that we will see each other soon, safely, Father Cioppi

FINANCIAL INFORMATION In 2010, the Archdiocese, in conjunction with Mother of Divine Providence, inaugurated the Heritage of Faith/Vision of Hope Capital Campaign. At that time, MDP’s goals were:
Restoration of the original chapel in the Rectory
Church handicap accessibility
Parish Meeting Hall We were never able to raise the necessary funds to accomplish the restoration of the chapel or enlargement of the meeting hall. We now, in 2020, have other pressing capital projects that need to be funded and we wish to change our remaining two goals to reflect our present needs:
To Make necessary church repairs/upgrades Our immediate need is to replace the HVAC system in our church. We were able to raise $139,000 from the Shore Up the Future Year 2 Appeal. The cost to replace the current system is estimated to be between $175,000 and $200,000. We would use the needed funds from the Heritage of Faith Trust Fund to complete this project. Both the Parish Finance Council and Pastoral Council have approved this change in goals. We now present this

IN OUR PARISH
GRIEF SUPPORT These are extremely strange times that are forcing us to change our approach to supporting you in your grief. We understand that your grief process is not going to be on hold until we have the “all clear” to resume normal activities. But for a distant tentative plan to help you we have decided to move our Grief Support Group until the Fall. In the meantime should you find that you have a need to share your thoughts, concerns or even memories we want you to feel comfortable in reaching out to us by phone. You have several options with regard to your support person: Jennifer Rose at Catholic Social Services 610-270-2821
Susan Dugary - MDP Grief Facilitator 215-460-7113
Maureen Maskarinec - MDP Grief Facilitator 610-265-5840
We hope that you will call if you feel the need. We pray that you will find the strength to find your personal “new normal” in these challenging times.
SPECIAL CORONAVIRUS PAGE ON OUR WEBSITE
MDP is responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and updating schedules and activities in accordance with Archdiocesan directives and guidance from government agencies. Our website, www.mdpparish.com, has a page that will be the hub for all the latest information and will be updated frequently as the situation warrants. As you know, this is an incredibly fluid situation, and things are likely to change at any time, so please check the website frequently for the most up-to-date information.
Our goal is to continue to provide you the opportunity to be a part of parish life as best as we can. We may not be able to come together as we usually do as a parish family, but we will do our best to “Worship God first, above all other things and then ‘go and make disciples'” in different and creative ways.
Parish Staff is working remotely, with reduced hours and there are no public office hours. If you call please leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Or you can email Carol Murray @ [email protected]. Please be safe and healthy! God Bless!

they feel ready to enter into Confirmation PREP.
Confirmation PREP can begin once a student has
completed at least one full year of Ignite and as early as
7th grade, allowing them to receive Confirmation in the
Fall of their 8th grade year, if they feel prepared. Ignite
meets one Sunday per month. Confirmation PREP meets
separately from Ignite one Sunday per month with
additional small group meetings during the semester as
scheduled by the small group leaders. For more

During this time of social distancing, routines have been interrupted. You can still order Scrip and remain socially distant. The best ways to do this is to go to www.greatlakesscrip.com and reload your existing cards. You can order Electronic Cards as well. If neither of these work for you, you can call the parish office at 610-265-4178 and leave a message for an order. Or you can call Mariann Bevenour at 610-212-7520 to place an order. We can then make arrangements to deliver orders and pick up payment.
