Distributed exclusively by Prouds – the new collection from PANDORA was released early last month at all Prouds retail and resort outlets in the country.

WINES from New Zealand are doing exceptionally well in the international market says Ivan Sutherland of Dog Point Vine-yards.

Mr Sutehrland who was re-cently in the country with his wife Margaret made the com-ments while conducting a training and brand awareness session with a group of Prouds and Motibhai Group sales staff.

He said what sets Dog Point wines apart from others is the or-ganic and holistic nature in which the wines from their vineyards are produced.

While addressing the sales staff, Margaret Sutherland thanked the team for the great marketing efforts in promoting their boutique wine brand in the country.

“You can produce the best wine in the world, but if there aren’t good people like you to sell, it’s of no use,” Ms Suther-land said.

Motibhai Group executive di-rector Bhupendra Patel said the company is honoured to have an iconic brand such as Dog Point in its list of world renowned wine brands.

Group sales manager west Manwal Kumar said there has

been a surge in wine sales through supermarket outlets signaling a change in the local market trend.

“We can see more and more people are consuming wines in comparison to the past and this is evident through the increase in

sales at our supermarket outlets,” Mr Kumar said.

Meanwhile, Dog Point Vine-yards are specialist wine produc-ers since 2002.

A tribute to Muhammad Ali, the greatest of all time

THE recent death of Muhammad Ali brought back great childhood memories of watching boxing matches with my Dad, Councillor Whit Stennett for the Clifford Ward.

Our family were massive fans of Ali and it was always a family tradition to gather around the television to watch his pre-match banter and cheer him on as he knocked out his opponents.

We also enjoyed watching him when he appeared on the Michael Parkinson show.

In October 1971, when we heard that Ali was due to visit Stretford Arndale to promote the Ovaltine drink, I cried and pleaded with my dad to take me along.

I was only four-years-old but I was desperate to meet my hero and role model. I can honestly say that it was one of the best days of my life.

There were hundreds of people but I had a great view of 'the Great-est' as I sat on my dad's shoulders.

There was a huge amount of pushing and shoving on the day but Ali
