Notre Dame Movember Madness Summary
• Irish Movember Madness 2013• Put on by the Notre Dame Athletic Department• Students will choose to “sponsor” male student
athletes to enter the Movember tournament• $25 entry into 64 man bracket• Voting for each round will go on 5 days • Athletes will move on to the next round of the
competition based on voting…$1 per vote
Purpose
• Raise $$$ for Testicular Cancer
• Generate awareness throughout local South Bend communities
• Create a competitive, fun atmosphere while being informative and supporting a worthy cause
Goals
• 64 contestants at $25 per entry is $1,600• 30 of voting at $1 per vote should generate
$3,000 or more• Sponsorships and Events should generate
$6,000 or more– We think that at the end of each voting period we
could get a sponsor to host an event to announce the winners…$1000 to sponsor the event
• Estimated total of $10,600 or more raised
Activities and Events
• Movember Tournament itself• Kickoff Dinner on campus– Introduce our sponsors and our 64 contestants
• 6 round winner’s announcement events hosted by sponsors– Duration: 1.5 hours– Promotional activities: Enter to Win– Last Minute Voting tables: first hour of each event

• On campus convocations on the history of Movember, Testicular Cancer and current studies about the disease. – During the whole month– Have doctors and speakers on campus – Purpose is to raise awareness
• Recognize Sponsors at the last home football game in November. Halftime ceremony.

• Student Volunteers– Dinner, Winner’s Announcement events
• Tech savvy Athletics’ employee to run the fundraising page– Or have a Greek organization on campus run the

Budget
• Very little expenses to put on this event– Mostly sponsor based– $500 for local newspaper ads– $150 for flyers printed on campus– Volunteers’ time and effort– BOOM
