I came to Mrs. Carlson’s fourth grade class by crawling in the back window. Mrs. Carlson picked me up and put me in a nice perfect cage.

I made friends with all sorts of other animals. There was a snail, some small fish, and a turtle named Frisbee.

All the kids loved me so much!!!!! They told everyone about me. They thought I was the star!!! I bit Mrs. Carlson a few times, but not much!!!

One night, I was feeling like I wanted to get out. I crawled to the top of my cage. Then, I turned the latch and opened the cage door.

I jumped off the table and landed on the ground. I crawled under the door. I took a right, down the stairs, a left, down more stairs, a right, and another pair of steps and came to the lunchroom!

I walked around a little. Then I saw a big gate. I tried to lift it but couldn't. I backed up then ran as fast as I could and jumped. SMASH!!! As soon as I hit that gate I heard someone come down the stairs. It was a custodian. He heard something and opened the gate to check the racket. Then, I ran under the gate.

I went up the wall and jumped in the food! Yum. My favorite. Hotdogs!!! I kept eating and eating. I fell asleep and…..

A custodian picked me up. He put me in the cage. I kept sleeping. I was dreaming about cheese and not bothered by the motion.

I woke to the sound of kids. “Hey you, be quiet out there, would you?” I went to get my water. Oh my!!! I’m so fat!

I looked outside my cage. There was a new fish friend, a beta named Pink Panther!
