MY PLATE FOR OLDER ADULTS

Over the past century, deficiencies of essential nutrients

have dramatically decreased, many infectious diseases

have been conquered, and the majority of the U.S.

population can now anticipate a long and productive

life. At the same time, rates of chronic diseases—many

of which are related to poor quality diet and physical

inactivity—have

increased.

We value our volunteers and the

an extended and ongoing outreach effort that aims to make

new visitors to the Center feel welcomed.

Computer Skills & Data Entry—Success with grants and

fundraising depends on our ability to track data. We seek

someone who can be onsite 2 days per week for 2 hours per

shi(.

ALL HANDS ON DECK - WE NEED HELP

interest in several aspects of our fundraising efforts

including:

special events that are held throughout the year.

Snoqualmie Valley Transporta#on (SVT) DO YOU NEED A RIDE SOMEWHERE

IN SNOQUALMIE VALLEY?

SVT can get you there!

SVT offers three types of service

Door-to-Door Service

Call in advance to book your ride at 425-888-7001. This

service takes people from door -to -door within North Bend,

Snoqualmie, Fall City and parts of Preston for $1.

M-F from 6:00AM - 7:30PM. Open to the general public.

Valley Shu"le

Catch the Valley Shu'le at one of the many Metro bus stops

and you can get between points in North Bend and Duvall

including Fall City, Snoqualmie and Carna!on. All for a

suggested dona!on of $1. The Valley Shu'le !metable is

available at the senior center front desk or online at

www.SVTbus.org. Ques!ons? Call 425-888-7001.

M-F from 5:30AM - 9:00PM. Open to the general public.

Volunteer Ride Services

If you are a senior and need a ride to a medical

appointment, in or outside of the Valley, call SVT at 425-

888-7001 to book a ride with a volunteer in our community

who will pick you up, take you to your appointment, and

bring you back home in their own vehicle. If you’d like to be

a volunteer driver, call 425-888-7001.

By Appointment. Seniors only.

A ‘NEW & IMPROVED’ SVT

November of 2017, brings a new loop route connec!ng

Historic Downtown Snoqualmie to Snoqualmie Ridge

residents and the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital. More riders

will be served in a safe, affordable and convenient way.

The second service will begin in early 2018, with door-to-

door service in Carna!on, Duvall, and Monroe. The

Monroe, Duvall area has been lacking in these services

since 2012, and this reinstatement of SVT services is

eagerly an!cipated.

A survey recently generated by the Snoqualmie Valley

Transporta!on Coali!on and mailed to Snoqualmie Valley

residents asked the ques!on; “What is your wish for

transporta!on in the Snoqualmie Valley?” The responses

will help create a transit plan for the whole Valley;

something that has long been needed.

As SVT steps closer to the SVT Vision: “Everyone in the

Snoqualmie Valley can reach their des!na!on using

transit” and the SVT Mission: “To be an integral part of a

strategic plan for sustainable, safe, affordable and

convenient transit in the Snoqualmie Valley.”

If you have never used the bus, give it a try, SVT staff can

help get you where you need to go!

DRIVE A SENIOR TO THEIR

NEXT MEDICAL APPOINTMENT

Transporta!on is one of the top problems facing King

County seniors. More and more seniors are turning to the

Volunteer Transporta!on Program for help.

Volunteer Drivers:

· Provide rides using their own vehicles

· Choose the !mes, days and areas they wish to drive

· Receive reimbursement for mileage and parking

costs

· Receive supplemental liability insurance at no cost

· Do no heavy li(ing or bearing of weight

These volunteer drivers provide not only a ride but act as

an escort as well. Their dedica!on and compassion have

created a program that’s out of this world. Clients don’t

know what they would do without the help.

Contact SVT at 425-888-7001 for more informa!on.
