Design and look

Good taste evolves. Carrier Commercial Refrigeration has

interpreted this evolution through the design of new

and simple lines that can easily become integrated into

the architecture of modern shops.

Continuity of architectonic components

Modern shops require technical solutions to meet the different needs

of efficient merchandising. A good self-serve counter accounts for

these needs. The result must be in line with the aesthetic continuity of

the store.

Medea is one model with hundreds of solutions. That is

because Carrier Commercial Refrigeration customers require

different displays to meet their needs. Our modular designs

offer a number of options including self-service, small and large

displays as well as open and closed cabinets.

Flexibility

The Medea self-service counter has all the flexibility you need to

accommodate any selection of merchandising at any place in the

store. The choice is yours.

Hygiene

The cabinet is devoted to displaying food, therefore,

it must be easy to clean. This means using materials

that are easy to wash and components that are easy

to disassemble, as well as avoiding the use of slots

or corners that are difficult to clean.

Careful choice of materials

The refrigeration cabinet should operate for many years.

Therefore, materials must be selected to ensure operational

longevity and temperature reliability during its lifespan.

Easy to use

Shop operator must work all day long around and

with the cabinets. At Carrier, we have analysed these

operations to make this work easier. As a result,

ergonomically well designed display cabinets have

been developed.

Sliding glass doors Sliding glass doors have been designed to increase the temperature reliability and performance

of the display case, reducing energy costs.

Top canopy lighting, shelf lighting Good food presentation increases buying desire. Lighting underlines the quality of the food and

creates a pleasant shopping atmosphere.

Customisation

The variety of stores selling a diversity of fresh products require accessories with customised solutions. Sometimes internal coloured

shelves may be necessary, with or without lighting. A more rational display can be obtained with wire dividers or in plexi-glass

dividers.

Ergonomics

The less strain placed on the store’s staff, the more attention

they can devote to customers. Carrier’s innovative design

helps to simplify store operations. For example, the Medea

superstructure’s soft tummy bumper profile includes a multi-

use channel for the electrical cable that supplies the scales.

Trenchers, paper holders and other accessories are moveable

and functional parts of the counter.

Quality

Stainless steel raw materials and elegant design are distinctive

features of Carucco counters. Aesthetically pleasing design is

inherently impressive but, at the same time, puts the product to

the fore. The cabinet surfaces are easy to reach for cleaning,

and to ensure proper sanitary conditions and appearances.

Material selection also plays an important role. In continuous

operation the individual components have to stand up to

repeated use, whilst meeting visual demands.

Energy savings

The motivation behind Carrier Commercial Refrigeration’s new

solutions is to act with a focus on economic aspects while

including significant reductions in energy consumption and

maintaining consistently high performance. The use of high-

performance fans and fan speed control saves energy, reduces

operating costs and respects the environment. Innovations

include a new control unit that drives the performance

characteristics of the overall unit to ensure efficient operation.
