MultiCyclone

?How does it work

i. Incoming water enters 16 hydro cyclones tangentially, generating a strong centrifugal effect.

ii. The sediment is spun out to the hydro cyclone’s wall, and then spirals down to the sediment chamber.

iii. The filtered water migrates towards the center of the hydro cyclone where the flow reverses and spirals upwards through the outlet.

iv. Accumulation of sediment can be visibly monitored through the MultiCyclone’s clear sediment chamber.

v. The MultiCyclone is easily cleaned by opening the valve.

vi. Only 15 litres of water is discharged to cleanse the MultiCyclone.

Save Water

• MultiCyclone collects 80% of the dirt that clogs your filter before it gets there.

• It drastically reduces backwashing and filter cartridge maintenance – yet it only takes 15 litres of water to flush

An average sand filter may require approximately 4,000 to 8,000 litres of water a year to maintain it. Sand filters require an occasional backwash and rinse [on average] every month to 2 months, depending on the dirt load of the pool and the size of the filter.

Each backwash and rinse equates to an average of approximately 700 litres.

If you backwash [on average] every month, your pool filter requires approximately 8400 litres of water a year.

Cuts wasteful backwashing

As the MultiCyclone intercepts 80% of the dirt load.

Only 20% of the dirt load reaches the filter. Backwash frequency is reduced by 1/5th.

Instead of once every 1 – 2 months, the filter needs to be backwashed approximately twice a year

DE Powder tes ts

• DE powder was passed through the Multi Cyclone to discover its effective flow rate.

• At 50 litres a minute, the MultiCyclone was able to remove approximately 60% of DE powder and at 350 litres a minute, the MultiCyclone was able to remove 80% of DE powder.

sediment bowl was laboratory tested to discover the particle sizes it was capable of trapping.

• The laboratory test below revealed that the MultiCyclone was capable of trapping sediment between 10 to 100 microns

Filtration Effic iency

• The filtration efficiency of the MultiCyclone was tested by feeding 5 to 80 micron dust particles through the MultiCyclone and analyzing the percentage of dust particles trapped in the sediment bowl.

• The laboratory test revealed that the Multi Cyclone was effective in filtering particles sized 40 to 80 microns.

MultiCyclone NSF certification

• MultiCyclone is certified by NSF international.

• NSF tested the MultiCylcone for its structural integrity, head loss, turbidity removal, and cleanability.

• Its turbidity tests proved that the MultiCyclone was capable of filtering down to 30 microns.

• NSF made the following comment, “The sample was extremely effective in trapping particles that are larger than 30 microns somewhat effective in the 20-30 micron range”.
