Udayashankar was workingas a waiter in the Guduvanc-hery branch of a restaurantchain for the past five years.On July 5, Udayashankarreached the Corporate Officeof the restaurant chain onGramani Street in T. Nagarand demanded his pendingsalary.

A senior Metrowater official told Mambalam Times thatconsumers are given time for the first three months of afinancial year to clear any pending amount.
“If it is not paid including any arrears, they will not be ableto book a tanker. The rule came into effect on July 1,” he said.

Sir, There was a report in Mambalam Times last week on construction debris occupying 1/3rd of the carriageway on Mambalam High Road. It has still not been cleared.

A woman pedestrian was relieved of her one-sovereign chain by an unidentified person onTuesday, July 9.
The incident took place when the victim, S.Latha, who runs a tailor shop onLakshmanasamy Salai, was returning homeat around 9.30 p.m.

The 40th Annual General Body meeting of the All IndiaFederation of Pensioners’ Associations (Kavarai Street,Saidapet) will be held from 9 a.m to 6 p.m on Saturday, July 20in Sri Balaji Kalyana Mandapam (2, Sundaram Street, T.Nagar).
Justice P. N. Prakash (Madras High Court) will inauguratethe conference.
S. C. Maheswari (Secretary General, Bharath PensionersSamaj, New Delhi), S. S. Varadarajan (Secretary General,NFRP, Palakkad), Dr. K. Chandrasekaran (MD, PrashanthSuper Specialty Hospital, Velachery) and A. Mohan (GeneralSecretary, Tamil Nadu Retired Official Association) will bepresent.
The problems in availing regular pension and other benefitsby pensioners and family pensioners will be discussed in themeeting.
More than 330 delegates from various States and UnionTerritories will participate in the meeting.

tral medial on Dr. Nair Road,near Vani Mahal, T. Nagarwere damaged when they werehit by a vehicle.
The damaged barricades,which are leaning precariouslyto one side of the road,
pose a danger for motoristsdue to poor visibility at night.
