Heaven Or Hell

These are secondary pictures that I have found that give a very melancholic atmosphere. The Tall trees and buildings give a very imposing impression due to their height. Vast and empty spaces also give a very mighty impression due to their expanse. These scenes would not be found in pop music videos and more likely to be found in indie rock music videos with a more gothic or dark tone. This could reflect the overall tone in out song choice. The religious imagery of the church and graveyard will also reflect the almost religious aspect of our song choice ‘Heaven Or Hell’ and create a link between the song and the visuals like in Andrew Goodwin’s theory.

After listening to the song over and over again I had a strong sense that the artist was falling from grace, and fighting a battle against themselves , a battle between good and evil. I really liked the image of the artist falling in the song Shatter Me by Lindsey Stirling and it might suit our song so it would be nice to try it out. I also really like the idea of being underwater, as it gives the image of struggle.

In terms of costume for the mise-en-scene, I thought that very simple clothing would work well, especially the white dress as it works well with the concept of heaven that is repeated through out our song. This is also why I have included a picture of rosary beads. This again links the visual with the lyrics like in Andrew Goodwin’s theory. I liked the outfit from Running With The Wolves by Aurora, as it is very simple and almost uniform like \and with the grey colour palette, it gives a very melancholic atmosphere. Furthermore, I like the idea of using black and white as it represents the binary opposites of heaven and hell.
