Music video proposal
By Kofoworola Williams
Representation of menWithin my music video I will be challenging the negative stereotypes of men being unemotional.
As the majority of media presents men to be only having one emotion which is angry and be always macho.
However I want to show that men can be more just one emotion but can be more than what the media makes them out to be.
The narrative The narrative for my music video is about a man going through a brutal break up and showing his process through his grief.
I show the man going through the stages of grief and loss which are:-
1. Denial and Isolation2. Anger 3. Bargaining4. Depression5. Acceptance
Location
While I did originally want to have a variety of locations to through, I realised that the issue was that when going through the stages, a person wouldn’t go out to many places since they would be stuck in isolation and depression.
Locations that were used however was my house, Alexander palace, parks, bus stops and buses.
Lyrics referring to the video• With a lot of the song you can see the actor
saying a lot of the lyrics such as “Over you now.” and “La, la, la, la, la” shown through an high angle shot.
• In a specific part of the song that says “Don't think I'm struggling to mend.” where I show the character breaking down and crying, this is suppose to show the true emotions he is feeling but also how he’s talking to his ex trying to be strong.
• For the chorus, we have the character in the car, being angry while driving.
