PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Dear Parents and Carers, A huge welcome to Kellie Hudson to Muswellbrook South Public School! Kellie has come from Tamworth and has previously worked at MSPS in 2014. Kellie has been appointed as a permanent teacher in the support unit and will complete the Support RFF program as well as work closely with our students in SI. It is wonderful to have you on board and we are positive you will enjoy your time here at Muswellbrook South Public School. Congratulations to all of our students and classes who have performed this week at the Upper Hunter Eisteddfod. There have been some outstanding results with Muswellbrook South Public School really shining in the spotlight. A huge thanks to our teachers and parents for their organisation over the past few weeks in preparation for the students’ performances. It is wonderful to see our students performing at a high level. What a fabulous Friday our students participated in for Jump Rope for Heart. All students were engaged in many fun activities and rotations throughout the day. Well done to all students who gained sponsorship and raised $6803 for the Heart Foundation. A special mention to Maelie in 2R who raised over $1300! A magnificent effort! Our Year 6 journalism students have been working hard on their project this term and delivered a brilliant article on AFL in the Hunter. The students have been led by Mr Morris who has a strong passion for writing and it has been great to see the development of our students’ confidence, interview techniques and writing skills over the past few weeks. The article was downloaded as a feature article on the Chronicle website. Well done to all involved and we look forward to your next piece of journalism. Students this afternoon received notes for our Parent/Teacher/Student conferences. This is an opportunity for all stakeholders to be involved in the discussion around improved student learning. These conferences will be 15mins and will be hosted in the hall and library. All the teachers will be
available to meet with you throughout their day allocation. Please read the note and send back the attached form to your class teacher before Tuesday 20th June. Yours in Education, Jonathan Russell Principal No Assembly on Friday There will be no infants assembly this Friday as most of Kindergarten and Year 1 will be at the Eisteddfod.
