The study of educational technology
prepares individuals by helping them
acquire a deeper understanding and
mastery of: learning resources:
messages, people, materials, devices, tec
hniques and settings; processes for
analyzing and devising solutions to those
problems through
research, theory, design, production, evalu
ation, utilization; the processes involved in
organization and personnel management.
The focus is on effective processes to
facilitate learning using technologies and
understanding the impacts of technology
on learners and organizations.
Flashcards
Flashcard
Flash cards are a really handy
resource to have and can be useful at
every stage of the class. They are a
great way to present, practice and
recycle vocabulary and when students
become familiar with the activities
used in class, they can be given out to
early-finishers to use in small groups.
Activities using flash cards:
Memory Activities
Drilling Activities
identification and TPR activities.
Visual Aids
Visual Aids for learning is a company that develops images to streamline and support learning.
Visuals will help children who have difficulties with: listening and attending, understanding and responding , processing sequenced information ,motivation and play, following instructions and routines, anxiety and resistance to change, social isolation and shyness and in challenging behavior.
Chalkboard
Chalkboard emphasizing
essential information and
developing ideas as the class
progresses. The chalkboard is
inexpensive, especially when the
usable life of the board is
considered. It is flexible in use in
the sense that instructors may
use it, learners may use it and
changes can be easily made
through erasure.
Video Clip
Video Clip
Video clips help emphasize ideas
and lessons, and promote discussion.
Computers
Students can work in small groups
and use laptop computers to take
notes on their group's discussions
(replacing the use of poster paper or
handwritten overhead transparencies).
When they share their group's findings
with the whole class, they copy their
work to disk and bring it up to the front
of the class to project using the
instructor's computer.
Powerpoint presentation
Slide presentation software such
as PowerPoint has become an
ingrained part of many instructional
settings, particularly in large classes
and in courses more geared toward
information exchange than skill
development.
Benefits of using presentation
graphics:
Engaging multiple learning styles
Increasing visual impact
Improving audience focus
Providing annotations and highlights
Analyzing and synthesizing complexities
Enriching curriculum with interdisciplinarity
Increasing spontaneity and interactivity
Increasing wonder
White Board
White Board
They are a powerful tool in the
classroom adding interactivity and
collaboration, allowing the integration
of media content into the lecture and
supporting collaborative learning.
Used innovatively they create a wide
range of learning opportunities.
