Simply stated, it is theworld of the very smallthings, such as
molecules and atoms.A nanometer is onebillionth of a meter.

Nanotechnology deals with the study of Materials of size 10-9 m.
Nanotechnology is the fun and the easiest way to explore the science of
matters smallest particles.
The Nanotechnology is the branch of science & engineering that deals with
things smaller than 100 nanometers.
Nanotechnology creates and uses structures that have novel properties
because of their small size.
Nanotechnology is not just the science but it also touches the on a variety
of science such as physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering , microbiologyand so on.
Some definitions of nanotech also include a reference to molecular systems
and devices.

A nanometer-sized particle is
also smaller than a living cell
and can be seen only with the
most Powerful Microscopes
available today. A sheet of paper is about100000
nanometers thick. The width of a
human hair is approximately
80000 nanometers thick.
This is about one hundred
thousand times smaller than the
diameter of a human hair.

The word nanotechnology first appears in RichardFeynmannslecture Theres plenty of room at thebottom on December 29, 1959.
The term "nano-technology" had been coined in 1974by Norio Taniguichi to describe semiconductorprocesses involving control on the order of ananometer.
Researcher K. Eric Drexler was the first person to
popularize this technology in the early 1980s.
