SOIL ANALYSIS

pH = 7 (NEUTRAL)

VOLUME = 235.71 cm3

WEIGHT OF WET SOIL = 375 g WEIGHT OF DRIED SOIL = 300 g FIELD DENSITY = WET SOIL WEIGHT ÷ VOLUME

= 375 ÷ 235.71 = 1.590 g/cm3

BULK DENSITY = DRIED SOIL WEIGHT ÷ VOLUME= 300 g ÷ 235.71 = 1.272 g/cm3

WATER CONTENT % = WET SOIL WEIGHT – DRIED SOILWEIGHT ÷ DRIED SOIL WEIGHT x 100

= 375 –300 ÷ 300 x 100= 25 %

CARBON EMISSION DUE TO PAPER USAGE

• Mass of paper used for printing Question papers and test papersper year = 370.6 kg +185.3 kg

• Mass of paper used for Answer sheets per year =196.2 kg• Mass of paper used in the school office per year = 92.65 kg

The total mass per year =848.75 kg

The Carbon Emission factor of 1 kg of paper =2.9 kg of CO2eTherefore in our school the carbon emission due to paper usage is

2461.3 kg CO2e

WAYS TO REDUCE CARBONFOOTPRINT IN OUR SCHOOL

• We are reducing the usage of tubelights andfans thereby reducing the power consumption.

• We are increasing the number of plants andtrees in the school premises.

• We are promoting the usage of steel vessels inthe school canteen.

• Our school students have reduced the usage ofplastic lunch boxes and water bottles.
