Figure 46

3. With appropriate equipment, lift Navigator (1) (Figure 45)into position making sure arrow (1) (Figure 46) on inside ofdrum is going in direction of belt travel.

Note: When correctly installed, Navigator will be able to pivotdown and toward tail pulley. If unit moves down and toward headpulley, then it is installed backwards.

Figure 47

4. Attach idler bracket (1) to Navigator (2). (Figure 47)

5. Mount Navigator (2) to brackets (3). (Figure 47)

Note: Adjust position of Navigator using holes in bracket (3)(Figure 47). Position Navigator so top of unit is approximately 1inch (25.4mm) above top of return rolls before and after it tocreate pressure on navigator.

Operation

Misaligned belt puts pressure on one side of Navigator ReturnTrainer and causes Navigator to tilt centering belt.

Troubleshooting

If the problem you are experiencing is not listed or the solution

does not solve the problem call Superior Industries for help.

1. Navigator installed backwards. Check direction of arrow onNavigator.

2. Conveyor too short. Navigator works best on conveyors over100 feet (30.5 m) in length.

2 Bi-Directional Drop Brackets (If Applicable)

Figure 48

1. Using appropriate equipment install bracket (1) (Figure 48)to conveyor frame.

2. Using appropriate equipment, attach drop bracket (2) tobracket (1) (Figure 48).

3. Position navigator in correct slot (3) on drop bracket (2) tomake central pivot perpendicular (90°) to belt (Figure 48).

Note: Bi-Directional Navigator should not pivot up and down intobelt line; it moves parallel to belt when properly installed.

Note: Adjust position of Navigator using holes in bracket (1)(Figure 48). Position Navigator so top of unit is approximately 1inch (25.4mm) above top of return rolls before and after it tocreate pressure on navigator.
