SMS transmission between the players in the ICT industryThe SMS Center enables execution of SMS transactions between the mobile and the internet based part of the ICT industry, and can work as a SMS hubbing backbone.

SMS enables dialogue between the mobile end users and VAS applications run by the internet based part of the ICT industry.

SMS is embedded in all GSM networks and all mobile phones, and the functionality is well known by all end users. This makes it possible to reach a large audience with SMS based services.

Players in the mobile based part of the ICT industry (MNO, MVNO, MVNE and SS7 Signaling providers) can use the SMS Center as a network element and as a gateway to the internet based part of the industry. This enables cost savings via direct SS7 access and termination of SMS via dedicated routes. Thegateway functionality enables new revenue streams by giving Internet based players access to the mobileusers.

Aggregators can use the SMS Center as a the backbone for SMS hubbing business. The rich interfaces enable setting up of advanced routes between operators in the mobile based and the internet based part of the ICT industry, and cost savings in SMS Termination.

Application Service Providers and Value Added Services Providers can use the SMS Center as an element of a VAS platform. E.g. VoIP operators can integrate the SMS Center with their VoIP platform and add SMS to their offering.

Service providers can use the SMS Center as a SMS and voice broadcasting platform. The web interface enables planning and execution of both SMS and voice broadcasting campaigns. The voice broadcasting can be automatically be executed when the receiver turns on his phone.

Rich interfaces, advanced routing and VAS enablersThe SMS Center enables transmission of SMS transactions between the SS7 based network elements and IP based applications.

The SS7 interfaces enable deep integration with the SS7 network and transmission of SMS via Message Signal Units (MSU). The rich IP interfaces allow exchange of SMS and data with IP based applications.

The configuration of the interfaces and the day-to-day operations are managed via a web based administration interface.

Features

• Scalable (from 20 to 2000 SMS TPS). This enables starting up with low costs and the required capacity and to upgrade as need occurs.

• Full SS7 interfaces (E1 and SIGTRAN). This enables flexibility in the SS7 integration, high transmission capacity and MSU interaction with the SS7 network (cost optimization).

• Rich IP interfaces (SMPP, HTTP, API). This enables interaction with third party applications regarding, SMS, HLR info, VMN data, and campaign management.

• Advanced routing facilities (Source and destination based routing, routing based on GT and IMSI). This enables high flexibility in the routing of MAP operations and SMS.

• Web based interface for SMS and voice broadcasting. This enables planning, execution and follow up of bulk SMS and outbound dialling campaigns (integration with Asterisk needed).

• Web based administration interface (configuration, status, add ons). This enables configuration of SS7 and IP based connections as well as monitoring and optimization of operations.

• Add ons for extra functionality (Virtual Mobile Number, SMS home routing, CDRs for billing, Number Portability (MNP), HLR Lookup and cache, Mobile Availability Monitor, SpamFiltering and Welcome SMS for Roamers. This enables usage of network intelligence in IP applications.
