Enable ActiveX control and Downloads TCP ports 5900 and 5901 are used to display

the video feed over IP so make sure your firewall is not blocking these ports

User Interface: OSD

1) Open the rack mounted KMM (keyboard, mouse, monitor). Hit a key or wiggle the mouse to activate the screen. Use your UCAS password to login.

2) You will be presented with a connection window (see below). Only ports to which you have been granted access will appear. Use the UP/Down arrows to select a port and hit enter. The video feed from the selected port should appear though sometimes you might need to press a key for it to appear.

3) To exit, hit Ctrl+k then q which will take you back to the Connection Menu. Scroll to the bottom of the list of ports and select exit, then hit "enter".

Hot Keys Ctrl+k q Brings up the port connection list so you can switch ports. If you press "Esc",

you will get disconnected. You can press "Enter" after selecting a different port, "Cycle", or "Exit".

Ctrl+k s Reset keyboard and mouse. Allows you to reset the keyboard and mouse if either of them stops responding.

Ctrl+k . Next Port. Goes to the next authorized port. Ctrl+k , Previous Port. Returns to the previous authorized port. Ctrl+k v Video. Brings up a window for manual screen brightness and cable length

adjustment. Cable length adjustment compensates for the length of the cable running from the KVM/netPlus to the KVM Terminator that is connected to the server.

PrintScreen Brings up a menu allowing you to perform the escape sequences [^K-n] operations using an OSD menu overlay instead.

Ctrl+k p Power management. Brings a power management menu with the options to turn on, off, or cycle the power for outlets to which the current server is connected.

Troubleshooting 1) The lights are on, but nobody is home. On occasion, the KVM server does not come up properly after a hard

power cycle. All the lights on the KVM will be on, but locally connected screens will be unresponsive and blank and the IP Viewer will not work.

Solution: Login to the KVM via the terminal server (see the UP for user/pass). If it is sitting at the '=>' prompt. Type 'boot'. The KVM will boot up. Watch the screen and you should see the process starting up. When '<name of KVM> login:' appears, the KVM should be operational. If you're already at the '<name of KVM> login:' prompt, type "reboot" to reboot the server. Watch the screen and you should see the process starting up. When '<name of KVM> login:' appears, the KVM should be operational.

2) Mouse/Keyboard unresponsive. Occasionally the keyboard or mouse will not respond. This usually occurs if the mouse/keyboard are disconnected and then reconnected to the server.

Solution: If locally connected, use the Default Hot Key sequence to reset the keyboard and mouse. If using the IP Viewer, click on "Reset Mouse and Keyboard" on the access control screen.

3) Local mouse and remote mouse frequently lose synchronization (IP Viewer). This problem only affects the IP Viewer.

Solution: Check the mouse settings of the server. Mouse acceleration should be turned off and the motion speed should be set to medium. See page 107 of the users guide for more info. If those settings check out, move the mouse around rapidly in a circle until the local and remote mouse resync (its kludgey but Cyclades doesn't have a better answer at the time if this writing).
