Youwereassessingthedesignandframeoftheracecar,andenvisioninghowyouwouldmodifyandimproveuponthedesign.AgroupofFAUengineeringstudentshavesomegreatideasoftheirownthattheyareput-tingtowork.Tenundergrad-uatestudentsinmechanicalengineeringhavejoinedforcestodesignanddevelopFAU’sFormulaSAE(SocietyofAutomotiveEngineers)Race
Carforthe2006FormulaSAEcompetition. Thisannualcompe-titiontakesplaceinDetroit,michiganwithover140universitiesparticipating.ThecompetitionisforSAEstudentmemberstocon-ceive,design,developandcompetewithsmallformula-styleracingcars. OurstudentshavebeenhardatworksinceSeptember2004developing,
designingandbuildingthisracecar.Theyareresponsibleforeverysinglecomponentofthecar,frommodifyingaSuzukiGSX-R600motorcycleengine,totheaxles,bodyframeandmore.WeareveryproudoftheFAURacingTeamandwishthemlotsofluck.
HOOTIEHOO! Wow!Concretecanfloat?Leaveittoourunder-graduatecivilengineeringstudentstoaccomplishthisfeat.Approximately30ofourstudentsintheFAUAmericanSocietyofCivilEngineers(ASCE)studentor-ganizationworkedtogethertoapplytheirengineeringknowledge,alongwiththeircreativityanddedication,
todevelop,designandbuildaconcretecanoethatcanfloat.Theworkonthiscanoe,aptlynamedHOO-TIEHOOinreferencetotheUniversity’sOwlmascot,beganinSeptember2004andtookapproximatelysixmonthstocomplete.TheconcretecanoewasenteredintotheASCESoutheastRegionalCompetitionheld
inAlabamathispastmarch.Over20universitiesinclud-ingvanderbilt,Auburn,andtheUniversityofFloridaparticipated.WeareverypleasedwithalltheirhardworkandeffortandextendspecialcongratulationstotheFAUASCEstudents.

suchasanaccount-ingengine,analysisengine,tradingengine,monitoringengine,reportingengineandrelation-shipmanagementtoolsforfinancialadvisorswhopro-videwealthdesign
tohigh-net-worthclients.AsaJavadeveloper,sheiscurrentlyworkingontheprototypefortheanalysisengineusingapplications
