Pinto Cardiomyopathies are complex diseases. Knowledge has been growing in the last decades, in part due to the enormous advan- ces in imaging and genetics. These conditions are expressed by varied cardiac phenotypes, sometimes overlapping or mixed, and are a frequent cause of heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden death. Cardiomyopathies are difficult to diagnose and often have a genetic cause. Due to their complexity and hetero- geneity these conditions require clinical knowledge in several medical domains. They are a cutting-edge area in terms of mole- cular and pathophysiological research, with some entities fitting ideal translational models. The knowledge of cardiomyopathies regarding the mechanisms involved in their development and progression is increasing, as are the diagnostic methods and new therapeutic agents able to control the natural history of these diseases, or even to prevent disease development. It is challenging to keep updated in the continuous evolution of the knowledge in this field. How to diagnose and manage, how to choose the best candidates for new or specific therapies, how to follow patients and their affected relatives, these are some of the educational needs regarding the clinical approach of patients with cardiomyopathies, which are frequently stated by cardiologists and internal medicine specialists. This LEE aims to provide up-to-date knowledge and practical training in the field. EDUCATION NEEDS
