the online safety training:Login: DrsTdbUser (not case sensitive)Pwd: DRS0vcrTraining (case sensitive, and the ‘0’ is numeral zero)

• Complete the UIUC Division of Research Safety online safety training– Complete Laboratory Safety– Complete Chemical Safety: An Introduction, Parts 1 & 2

• Provide certification of completion to MRL– Save each certificate after completing your online training– Sign the certificate (manually, electronically in PDF, or type)– Option 1: Email the PDF or a scan to [email protected]– Option 2: Print and sign the certificates. Step 1: DRS Safety Training

• Email your signed DRS safety training certificates to [email protected], mail the certificates to MRL or bring them with you when you visit

• There are 3 required certificates:1. Laboratory Safety Training2. Chemical Safety: An Introduction, Parts 1 & 2

If you will be using X-Ray, Laser, or Fab facility instrumentation, additional DRS safety certificates are required; please contact [email protected] for specifics

Step 2: Laboratory Safety Guide

• Read the UIUC Laboratory Safety Guide: http://www.drs.illinois.edu/site-documents/LaboratorySafetyGuide.pdf

• Email [email protected] with any questions about this guide– Off-campus researchers do not need to take the Laboratory Safety Guide quiz

(which is required for UIUC researchers of the MRL Central Research Facilities)

Step 3: Equivalent to the “In-Person” Orientation

• Read the slides from the presentation which is given during the in-person orientation– Read this—it’s useful!– How to work safely and effectively at MRL– How to sign up for training and instrument time– Contact [email protected] to get the
