PLATING WORKSTATION SIFCO Applied Surface Conceptsoffers the SIFCO Process®Workstation, designed to facilitate
to brush plate a wide variety of com-ponents using the SIFCO Process®.The new workstation is constructedof heavy duty, chemical-resistantpolypropylene, and is designed withoperator comfort and applicationflexibility in mind. The main worksurface accommodates SIFCOProcess® auxiliary equipment, including a turning head, traversingarm, and ID plater. The main fea-tures include:
• Ventilation: The articulated vent provides maximum coverage for the work area. The operator is able to connect to the in-plant exhaust system or use a portable ventilation system (not included).
• Electrical Outlets: There are three electrical outlets conveniently located for use with the power pack and auxiliary equipment.
• Compressed Air Connection: The workstation is able to tie into the existing system by a standard connection for an air hose.
• Sink with Commercial Faucet: Supplies hot and cold water from its gooseneck faucet and retractable spray hose.
SIFCO ASC will work with compa-nies to understand their specificapplication requirements and will
help to develop a customized engi-neered solution to meet their appli-cation and production needs.

EN PTFE COMPOSITE MacDermid Incorporated unveilsits Electroless Nickel PTFEComposite. NiKlad ICE Ultra com-bines the hardness and uniformity ofelectroless nickel deposits with thelubricity and anti-stick properties ofPTFE. NiKlad ICE Ultra produces acomposite of electroless nickel phos-phorus and occluded sub-micronparticles of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE), making it ideal for applica-tions where low friction and releaseproperties are required. NiKlad ICEUltra gives an extremely uniform dis-tribution of PTFE particles through-out the plated layer, maximizing theperformance of the coating in wearapplications. NiKlad ICE Ultradeposits contain from 1 to 12% byweight incorporated PTFE (3 to 36%by volume).

MASKING PROCESS Medi-Solve Coatings, a leadingmanufacturer of very lubricious, hydrophilic coatings for the medicaldevice industry, has developed aunique way to mask a medical deviceduring the coating process.Catheters and guidewires are typical-ly coated at the end of the devicemanufacturing process. Sometimes, only a portion of the device requiresa highly lubricious coating. Forexample, on a stent delivery catheter, the distal tip and catheter shaftwould have a hydrophilic coating tohelp the catheter track. Medi-Solve’snovel masking material and process
enables manufacturers to preferen-tially coat finished devices. With thisunique material, the coating can beapplied while the balloon is in itsfinal, folded state. This offersprocess flexibility while saving timeand money.

MULTI-TUMBLING BLASTMACHINES Rosler unveils its R-SF line of effi-cient mini-drag machines. Thesepowerful units provide a superiorfinishes and precise, repeatableprocesses ideally suited for a wide
range of components from pro-pellers and golf-clubs to artificialjoints and dental implants!
Rosler’s new mini-drag machinesprovide 40 times the grinding powerof rotary vibrators yet eliminateimpingement between delicate com-ponents. These machines includehydraulically powered carouselassemblies allowing vertical move-ment for versatile processing and arealso equipped with up to four rotat-ing work stations each with inde-pendent drives. Featuring heavy-dutyconstruction, protective cabin withplexi-glass doors, and industrialgrade motors, all R-SF machinesinclude a work bowl lined with high-ly wear-resistant polyurethane foryears of durable service.
Each R-SF mini-drag finisher
comes with a user-friendly PLC-based control panel for program-ming all essential operations. Otherconvenient features include a mediaunload port for quick and easymedia changes as well as dosingequipment for accurately managingwater and compounds.
In addition, Rosler offers RMTmulti-tumbling batch blastmachines. Using a special rotary bar-rel design, these durable units pro-duce excellent blast coverage resultsand compared to conventional tum-blast machines, they have no “pinchpoints” to damage even sensitiveparts. Rosler’s RMT machines suitevery capacity requirement from 3-34 cu. ft. batch sizes and include awide choice of blast turbines from15-75 hp.

CORROSION INHIBITOR Daubert Chemical, specializing infunctional coatings and specialtyadhesives since 1935, offers theSACI® line of multi-functional com-pounds that allow the formulationof materials with exceptional resist-ance to sag, run-off, and flow, even athigh film buildup and elevated tem-peratures.
SACI® products are useful in coat-ing formulations as anti-settling andpigment dispersing agents, and asrheological modifiers to stabilize vis-cosity and modify sag resistance.Examples include coatings, sealantsand caulks used in vehicle underbod-ies and cavities, structural steel mem-bers on bridges, overpasses, utilitytowers, penetrating sealers in boltedor plate steel assemblies, and manymore.
Daubert’s SACI® products are pro-vided in three carriers: 100% Solids(Oil Or Wax) – These products formoily or waxy films, and are somewhathigh in viscosity at room tempera-ture, but flow extremely well whenheated. Products in this category areparticularly useful in formulatingcoatings, adhesives and sealants with
reduced VOC, and can be emulsifiedwith appropriate emulsificationagents or surfactants.
