Billing and Customer Care System. Many billing

systems do not support the offer simulator

module. Time for testing offers before they are launched is con-

siderable high, in many cases it might cause a delay in the produc-

tion deployment.

Billing systems play a fundamental role in revenue collection for

service providers. However, many systems are a problem and not

the solution to billing needs. This is typical when it comes to flexi-

bility, complexity and cost elements.

Service providers spend many hours to arrive at an attractive

offer. The process to design, implement, test and deploy those

offers in production might take longer time especially when the

billing system is not flexible enough to implement easily such

offers.

adopting a SMART approach to billing and making it far more easi-

For real mode charging, Rate&Bill saves the

rating context used to generate the transac-

tion amount. The user will therefore be able

to re-simulate the transaction and check whether the amount was

deducted correctly or not. This concept secures the system from

any kind of complain and make the charged amount understanda-

ble and transparent for all parties; not only service provider but al-

so to the final consumer. In real mode charging, the system user

needs to select the transaction that needs to be checked and

chooses to simulate the transaction.

The Rating Simulator module is a smart

and easy way to perform a various test

scenarios in few minutes. The generated

amount will be highlighted in different

color and with a money icons. No need to

be an expert to check whether the rating was performed success-

Rating scenario will be displayed in the decisional tree in the left

view while the rating context will be displayed the right view. The

above scenario mean that for each new SMS received, the "SMS

counter" will be incremented, a number comparator component is

used to check whether the number of SMS still less than 100 or not.

In case the result is "SMS counter less than 100" the first node

will be chosen and the customer will be charged 0 amount.

In case the first condition was not fulfilled, the default node will

be chosen and the customer will be charged 0.1 amount.

Following the highlighted cursor (red color), the rating logic can be

easily checked and the result can be verified. The above concept

make Rate&Bill efficient in a way that you can design and simulate

your offer in a few minutes with a trusted charging logic. Using

Rate&Bill, service provider need just to think about attractive offers

because their implementation will be easier, faster and well tested.
