How will we reduce our reliance on enDowment principle?
• In 2013 we hope to begin a special annual offering called “UCC Covenant Share”
• The UCC Covenant Share is proposed in the 2014 Conference Budget.
Plan to address Deficit
What will “UCC Covenant Share” accomplish?
• First, the income funds will apply to eliminating the budget deficit.
• The surplus funds available after the deficit is eradicated will be equally divided between:
• additional support to UCC National Basic Support for the work of the wider church in this county and around the world.
• Creation of a grant fund for local churches in the New York Conference for new ministry initiatives and leadership development. This new fund will be called “Resourcing the Local Church”.
