Neville Lovett Events:

Staff Circuits

Friday, 27th April 2012 saw a group of determined members of staff put through their paces in a circuit session run by our BTEC students. Members of staff really enjoyed the session which saw much competition among the male members of staff. Some staff were still aching on Wednesday this week. Circuits has proved to be so popular that it will now take place weekly.

Students of the week

Year 7: Tom Ray – Over the course of the past 2 months, Tom’s attendance and enthusiasm for school has shot up. I have been really impressed with his attitude and the effort he puts in to all of his lessons. Well done Tom. (Mr Edwards Head of Year 7)

Year 8: Josh Maginnis for his consistently great attitude to learning.

Year 9: Shay Bradley for outstanding attitude to learning across all subjects

Year 10: Jake Osborne for his assistance on Year 7 Parent Evening and his professionalism throughout the event.

Year 11: Kerri Briggs and Grace Downey for their starring roles in Rock Challenge which they performed recently at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Student Aspirations

Penny Buckley (Year 7): Penny would like to be a professional Chef. She is also aware that it is not enough just to be good at cooking, but that she needs qualifications. She talked about going to college and then on to university. `

Nathan Harmston (Year 8): Nathan would like to run his own retail business, maybe a confectionary shop. He would like to make future environments for people happy and friendly because this is his experience of such shops. He feels that this would be a good way of building relationships with other people.

Brydie Curry (Year 9) wants to be an architect and has always been interested in graphic design. Brydie wants to pursue further education and go to university.

Shaun Kelly (Year 10)wants to be a pilot in the RAF. He is hoping they will sponsor him through university after he has gone to college to study maths and physics.

Rebecca Nibloe (Year 11) intends to be a trained midwife working in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. She was inspired by a book by Maria Anderson called The tales of Midwife, although she had an interest in this area for some time. She wants to go to college to get onto the Southampton University Midwifery course.
