By Oscar Parker  Please Fairy Godmother grant my wish. Can I have a magic cupboard so that my toys can come alive. I have three good reasons why. The first reason is so I won't be so lonely. I will always have something to do. It would be so fun because I can make a new friend everyday. Secondly, when I get bored I won't play on the I-Pad because everyone knows it's bad for your eyes. If I had the cupboard my imagination will grow wild. Also I won't need to do homework because Mum only insists I do homework when I'm bored. Thirdly, I will have something to look forward to when I come home. When I ask my mum if my friends can come and play she always says...No! If I have a magic cupboard I won't moan. Also, when I am inside I won't stay in bed being bored all day. So please, please, please grant my wish. It really means that I could be happy. Thank you! By Dora Sun  Please Fairy Godmother can I have a dragon. It would be so, so, so wonderful. I’ll give you anything. Please! This dragon would be the best-behaved dragon ever. I would train the dragon and it would be nice, not just nice but an extremely nice dragon! I would teach it to do anything you or I would say. I could train it to light fires so when we go camping we can cook our marshmallows. If I just had one little dragon everybody could ride it, even you. We could ride it up on top of the clouds and explore them. I would go so, so, so fast. Please Fairy Godmother! He would be our best friend. We could play anything with my dragon. Please Fairy Godmother! He would help me with my homework so mum would not have to worry. Please! Fairy Godmother, please can I have a dragon. By Izzy Reeve  The Screaming Human I nervously sit in the chair while my legs are getting attached to the long ropes. As I wait the music plays loudly through my head. Then I get ready to jump. I start to shake. Waddling like a penguin on ice I go to the platform. I peek down and see a little island that look like small ants. I get ready to jump. The man counts 3..2..1.. But I don’t jump. I look around. It’s like I was in the clouds. Wow! That’s high. The man counts again. As he counts I stretch my arms out wide and bend my knees. My knees begin to shake. I am scared! When the man finishes counting I take a big jump. As I am in the thin air I can feel a little bit of wind against my face. When I hit the bottom, it is like a yoyo going up and down. Community notices

Dear local resident The Puketapapa Local Board is encouraging local residents to plant native trees at home by providing 180 native tree kits for free! The available trees include Karaka, Hoheria (lacebark), Whau (cork tree), Tataire and Kowhai. To receive a tree kit you simply need to register with us and then pick your tree up from Walmsley Park on Sandringham Rd Extension at 2pm-4pm on Saturday 6 September. At the pickup there will be a brief tree planting demonstration to show you what to do to give your tree a good start. Once you have planted your tree at home, simply share a photo of your tree with the Board. Please note that numbers are strictly limited to 180 native tree kits (including a tree, compost, and stake). To register please email [email protected] as soon as possible. Native trees at home encourage native birdlife and other creatures. They benefit our local environment and are a great addition to your garden. Register today for your tree!
