We saw many exciting activities. We saw our council grow, and we made our numbers as far as our new insurance members go, but had to remove eleven Brother Knights from our rolls. This caused us to be way short of the new members we needed to achieve to make Star Council. However, this will leave us in an excellent position to achieve Star Council next fraternal year. I look for amazing achievements during our 2016 to 2017 fraternal year. A hardy thank you and “job well done” to all of our officers for the past fraternal year and I look forward to working with each of you during our new fraternal year. How exciting to have the new District Deputy to come from our Council. This should be proud moment for all of us. Finally, as many of you know, our council is about to start a Fourth Degree Assembly. The new Assembly will be, St. Rafael Guizar Valencia. Bishop Rafael Guizar Valencia, was a Knight of Columbus. If you are interested in becoming a Fourth Degree Knight and joining your Brother Sir Knights in our assembly, please contact myself or any of our Fourth Degree Sir Knights prior to October 1, 2016 so that we can get your application in prior to the next Fourth Degree Exemplification. DEPUTY GRAND KNIGHT'S REPORT A big thank you to all those who helped out at John Donna’s place, the second round of cleaning up the aluminum can area, and our monthly coffee and donuts ministry. We will be getting together for a third time to once again clean up the aluminum can area and see how much more we can get for our cans in late June. A big thank you to Walter and Tim for taking the trailer to turn the cans in for money. Hope to see more of you this next time around. If you have some event coming up which might interest our council, please let me know so we can add it to our monthly event list. If any of you are interested in helping out with the Spanish Round table, please contact Chuck Ramos. [email protected] 512-565-0835 My wife and I participated in early June on the prebuild for the next Habitat House in Leander on Moon Glow. The prebuild consists of actually building all the walls at an off site location and then hauling them over to the job site once construction starts. It is a good fundraiser for habitat with manpower and donations coming from larger companies. There will be 2 builds, back to back, starting in July or August on Moon Glow in Leander. Will send out more information as the starting date approaches. One last big thank you for all those who came out to the long meeting this month. There was a lot to discuss!!! Till the next time our eyes greet each other. Leo. Leo Saenz. 512.831.8516. [email protected]. ADVOCATE Tom Ciapi [email protected] LECTOR'S REPORT Brian Hill. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES KC 134th Supreme Convention (via Live Simulcast) Tuesday, August 2, 2016 - 2nd Austin Annual Supreme Convention Banquet - 6:00-10:00 p.m., Norris Conference Center, Red Oak Ballroom, 2525 West Anderson Lane, Austin, 78757 - $35/person. A "Fun Raiser" for Texas Catholic Charities - live auction, games, fun - come and join us. Reservations limited...make yours now! For further information, contact David or Susan Tull. New Community Support Activity -- Friday, August 5, 2016 - Austin Fairy Godmother Gala - 6:00-10:00 p.m. - Kindred Oaks - 2100 County Road 176, Georgetown TX - $25/person - casino night, dining and dancing, "fun raiser" - funds go to non-profit Fairy Godmother whose mission is to make it possible for young women to attend special formal or semi-formal events in style, with confidence. Fairy Godmother enriches the lives of Texas residents through mentoring programs and community partnerships. Reservations limited...make yours now! For further information, contact David or Susan Tull. KC Wheelchair Mission - SOS...since March, we seem to have put the brakes on regarding funding purchases of new wheelchairs ($150 each) via individual knights or partnering knights. Please consider how you can help release the brakes and get the "wheels" rolling again. At the General Membership meeting on June 2, the council approved next year's annual budget, which contains a line item for wheelchairs that increases the council's annual funding level from 1 chair to 3. This helps, but past history shows that our individual members per se makes this charity a viable community activity for the council. Please see Brother David Tull or mail your check to his home address: 1713 Discovery Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613. Habitat for Humanity - The third Habitat home on Moon Glow Drive in Leander is anticipated to start construction in August. If you want to get involved, contact DGK Leo Saenz, 512-831-8516. Mobile Loaves & Fishes - During June (date

TBD) the SSM Truck Community's new Community First home will be ready for occupancy. Keep on the lookout for a list of needed furnishings listed in the Parish Bulletin. Anything you can do to help furnish the new home is greatly appreciated. Don't pass up any opportunity to visit the new Community First site. You will be amazed at this most worthy community support activity. For further details contact Brother Mike Uihlein, [email protected]. David Tull1713 Discovery Blvd Cedar Park, TX 78613.
