School Building ProjectWe have been informed by the Local Authority that our building plans to improve the school have been approved. The biggest priority is to remove the old canteen building which is past it's best. We plan to create a new kitchen and dining room in a wing of the main school building. The infant playground will then be extended. In addi@on, we plan to remove all of the mobile classrooms situated around the site and move Wizzies into the Infant building. The owner/ manager has been consulted about this and is happy about the new accommoda@on that will be available. Two of our classes will be moved in the infant building to make the best use of our space.Building works are due to start in January 2013 and will take several months to complete. Obviously there will be some disrup@on and changes during the building period, but we believe that the final outcomes will be well worth it.
Earlier this half term, class four went on their residential visit to Llandudno.
We experienced the worst weather possible: torrential rain and high winds but everyone still managed to have a great time.
The winds were so high that the pier and the tobogganing were closed on the first day and we had to revise our plans. The
children were pleased to get out of the rain for a while and do some ten pin bowling. In the evening, the rain had stopped and we were able to go out on the beach and collect items for some art work with our visiting artist.
All other activities took place as planned and everyone returned home with rosy faces.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the visit.

We have applied to Ofsted to open a pre-school on site to cater for two year olds. This provision, once approved will link closely with our existing Nursery and will be located in a room next to the Foundation Stage Unit. It will allow for children aged two and upwards to join our school community and move smoothly all the way through their education until they are ready to start secondary school. As soon as we have final approval, we will be taking bookings for places in the pre-school which we expect to open in September.
JUBILEE PICNICParents are invited to join us for our picnic lunch at 12 noon on Wednesday weather permitting to mark the occasion of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. If it rains, the children will eat their picnic lunch in the school hall.
ABSENCE LINE
We are looking for a volunteer to help out with the absence line on a Wednesday morning. Please contact the school office if you are able to help.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Please note the changes to our system from 1st June: you will be able to order your uniform choices on-line or over the telephone. The link to the Uniform Factory is on the Parents Page; click on the green ‘uniform order form’ button and then the ‘school uniform’ tab on the Uniform Factory’s website. This will
take you to a clear link to purchase our school uniform. Please note that we still have a few items in stock which we are selling at reduced prices as we will no longer hold any uniform stock in school. For details of products and prices, please see Mrs Astley in Reception.
THANKYOUThe Foundation Stage Unit recently held it’s open morning/garden party which was well attended by local families and a few visitors. The children
had a fantastic time and enjoyed the different activities on offer. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this such a special occasion.
WELL DONE!To everyone inYear 6 who worked so hard on their recent SATs, especially to those who took part in the additional level 6 papers.
Over the last two weeks, class 6 have been working on a mini-project on superheroes which has involved lots of problem solving and have been completing a creative
project about themselves and their interests.
