Hi Oldsmobile Club members:We had our planning meeting in January at CAM and came up with an agenda for 2015.We try to have an event every month and right away in March we have a tour planned for March 14 starting in Fairfield. This is short notice but look over the other events and plan to attend as many as you can. Later in March the Arizona Olds Club has their 28th annual All Oldsmobile Show in Scottsdale, kinda far but well worth the trip. (info in this issue) .The end of January we had our annual Turlock Swap booth space to promote our club and did sign up 2 new members. Thanks to Jon Manji, Denise La Centra, and Jeanie Marsden for help-ing out. My friend Danny Wiles and I set up Friday and took down Sunday early afternoon. We displayed Road Show banners provided by OCA. To further promote our club you will find an envelope attached to this issue which has 6 Nor Cal Olds Club business cards inserted. Please give these out to Oldsmobile car owners you think would enjoy our club. See right
We also have ironed out the Zone Show kinks and have it planned for SeaCrest again in Pismo Beach. Jon Manji our Show Car Chairman and one of our Zone directors has worked hard to get all the necessary ducks in a row for this zone event to happen with the help of the SoCal Club. Membership&Treasurer’sReport:DanHaggertyreportedthatourTreasuryissolvent.Ourmembershipattheendof2014was129membersandfor201568haverenewedasofthedayofthismeeting.
HealthandWelfare:LindaSutherlandreadtheminutesofthelastbusinessmeeting,LarrycalledtoaccepttheminutesandPatKennedyseconded.GetwellcardsweresentouttoDottieOttfromSantaMariaandonetoDaveandPatKennedy’ssonJohn.
CarShowChair:JonManjididareviewofour2014season.The2014Zoneshowwentwellatournewlocation,SeaCrestHotel,withattendancethesameas2013.Showfinancesimprovedoverthe2013showandtheprofitsweresplitwiththeSouthernCaliforniaclub.Hecitedthereasonsforgoingfromlosstoprofitwastheuseofadifferentawardssupplier,andtheaddi-tionoftheDonationinLieuofAwardoptionformembers.Thisyear’sZoneShowwillbeheldattheSeaCrestHotelinMay.OCA’smeetingplanningcompany(HelmsBriscoe)negotiatedthisyear’sroomrates.Asaresult,wehaveasignedcontractfor2015and2016withthefollowingrates,$149pernight(standardroom)and$179pernight(oceanviewroom).TheMarieCal-lendar’sRestauranthasclosed.TheSeaCrestHotelwillusetheformerMarieCallendar’sbuildingtohostourbanquet,andacatererwillbeinchargeofservicingthebanquet.The2015showwillbethesameaslastyear’sformat.ThereisaneedofshowfieldparkinghelpalongwithjudgesforSaturday.ContactJonManjiifyouwouldliketovolunteer.Showexpensesareestimat-edtobethesameas2014andthelastoftheunissuedawardswillmostlikelybeconsumedatthismeet.
MickeGroveShowin2014hadadecreaseinthenumberofcarsfromthepreviousyear.Therewereseveralchangesfromtheyearbefore,i.e.theregis-trationpricestructurewaschanged,theshowformatswitchedfromjudgedtoaPeople’sChoiceAward,ajudgingseminarwasadded,andhotfoodswereprovidedbyclubvolunteers.JonthoughtweshouldchangetoanewlocationwithinMickeGroveParkduetorisingcostsfortheSanJoaquinpicnicarea.Heproposedtwosites,Calavaras$100rentalfeeand150capacityorStanis-

laussite$160witha170capacity.AmotionwasmadetoacceptmovingtotheCalaverassitebyPatKennedyandsecondedbyDeniseLaCentra.Jonwillmakethereservations.ThedateforthisshowwillbeOctober4,2015.
TherewasalsodiscussionaboutmovingtheannualMickeGroveShowtoan-otherfacilityconsideringtherisingcostsandrestrictionsonparking.Furtherdiscussionstobeheld.
JonalsoreportedthatourBestofShowPerpetualTrophyneedsmaintenanceandupdatingbecausewearerunningoutofroomforthewinnerplaquesontheaward.Severalproposalsweremadeandthosemembersthathaverede-signideaswereaskedtosubmittheirproposals.
Webmaster:DonSutherlandreportedthatthingsaregoingwell,buthe’dliketoseeanincreasetowebvisitation.Adiscussionaboutlettingthepublicac-cessournewsletterswasbanteredaround.Asaresultofthediscussionitwasdecidedtoremovethepasswordprotectionandtoreplacenewsletterswithrostersremoved.
