A mbassadors Newsletter Presidents Message Vol. 26 No. 1 Spring 2016 Time. How many times a day do you say, “I’m so busy?” “I don’t have enough time.” “Time is fling by!” We all live busy lives and with work and family is there ever enough time? I have come to realize that each day we are given 24 hours, but it’s up to us how we use that time. Stop and ask yourself, “What can I change in my life to make that 24 hours count and are there things that suck the time out of my day?” Sometimes I think we all just need to take a step back and look at our lives and how we are running ourselves to death trying to keep up with the Jones, when the Smiths are enjoying life and doing just fine. Take time for important things in your life like relaxing, enjoying a book or spending time with old friends. I promise you won’t be sorry. Spend that 24 hours wisely and you will see how much time you really have! As your ambassador president, I would encourage each of you to go on line and give to the ambassador fund. It’s so easy, visit http://ambassadors.okstate.edu/ and click the Give to FCS button. Follow the simple directions. All it takes is a donation of $10 to stay an active member of OCES/FCS Ambassadors. I’m looking forward to seeing each of you soon. Sincerely, Janna Kelley FCS Ambassadors President 2015-2016

Presidents Message

Vol. 26 No. 1 Spring 2016

Time.

How many times a day do you say, “I’m so busy?” “I don’t have enough time.” “Time is fling by!”

We all live busy lives and with work and family is there ever enough time?

I have come to realize that each day we are given 24 hours, but it’s up to us how we use that time. Stop and ask yourself, “What can I change in my life to make that 24 hours count and are there things that suck the time out of my day?”

Sometimes I think we all just need to take a step back and look at our lives and how we are running ourselves to death trying to keep up with the Jones, when the Smiths are enjoying life and doing just fine.

Sincerely,

Janna KelleyFCS Ambassadors President 2015-2016

Silent Auction Plans

Ambassadors and supporters are encouraged to share the excitement. We always look forward to browsing and (competitively) bidding!

Detailed information on the auction as well as forms to pre-register your auction items will be available in the OHCE “Oklahoma Outreach” newsletter. The forms and information have also been emailed to county educators via the District Program Specialists.

Revised Grant Forms

The Grants and Awards Committee reviewed the requirements for grant applications and made some changes to hopefully make it easier to apply and streamline the judging process.

Changes include:

• Eliminating the resume• Combining the Checklist and Score Sheet• Requiring recipients be a donor to Ambassadors

and submit documentation

Hints for a successful application:

• Double space• Clearly identify how Ambassadors and OCES/

OHCE will be promoted in marketing• Clearly identify limited-resource or diverse

audiences• Donate to Ambassadors within the past year as

a donor or member of County OHCE Group and provide documentation

Check out the revised applications and instructions at: http://ambassadors.okstate.edu/grants

Grants and Awards applications for 2017 will be due July 1, 2016.

Public Relations and Recruitment Committee News

The Public Relations and Recruitment Committee for Ambassadors would like to remind you that it is the time of year to show your support. As Ambassadors, we need to continue to support Extension family and youth programs through any size of donation, starting at only $10.00!

Visit http://www.fcs.okstate.edu under “Quick Links” click on CE-FCS Ambassador/Fitch Fellowship Donation and Pledge Form. You can print off the pledge form and send in your donation to Ambassadors Fund, 135 HES, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74078-6111. We hope to receive your membership soon! Your friends, family, Extension Supporters, OSU Alumni and any other interested persons are also welcome and encouraged to support/join this organization.

I would also like to thank the presenters at the OHCE district meetings for promoting Ambassadors and the Silent Auction held during the OHCE State Meeting. Without you, the word about the auction and Ambassadors wouldn’t have gotten out to the OHCE members statewide.
