Small Groups (30 Day Church Challenge)

As we prepare for the next exciting chapter in the life of our church, we want to stress the importance of strong relationships. Many churches have found small groups and home fellowships both valuable and rewarding and we want to enjoy those blessings as well. Over the next month we’ll be putting together different home fellow-ships that will be meeting throughout the week during the month of October. If you’re interested in leading or host-ing one of these groups, please let the office know as soon as possible. We would love to have at least half of the church be a part of a home fellowship. Each group will meet for 5 weeks and will all be studying the core pur-poses of the church found in the book of Acts using a DVD curriculum. We want to encourage you to take this step of faith and to see how God will bless you as you trust Him and enjoy the fel-lowship that awaits you.

Our Ladies Bible Study will again meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:00. We start mid Sep-tember (watch the bulletin for which Tuesday we’ll begin). We will be study-ing Psalms and many of today’s songs that are taken from Psalms. It’s sure to be a great study.

Men’s Bible Study Resumes Our Men’s Bible Study will resume on Tues-day, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. Come join us as

we share the study of God’s Word. If you have any ques-tions, see Ray Peasley

RIGHT-TO-LIFE ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER

September 25 at the K of C Hall, Ryan Rd., Caro

Dinner @ 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.)

Special Guests are Mark & Andrea Forester who serve full time in the Gospel Music Minis-try singing Southern and traditional Gospel mu-sic. Mark & Andrea came face to face with soci-ety’s devaluation of human life when four months into Andrea’s pregnancy they learned their baby had some serious health problems. They were told time and time again that their son, Tyler, would not make it. You will not want to miss this great opportunity to support LIFE while enjoying an evening of music and the Forester’s own story of hope and encourage-ment. Our Mission Ministry has reserved three ta-bles, let’s fill them!! Sign up on the bulletin board if you plan to attend.

We extend our most heartfelt sympathy to Becky & Tom Howard, Lauren and Michael at the passing of Tom’s dad, Ed Howard. We pray for their peace and comfort in the knowledge of God’s love for them.

SAGINAW SOUP KITCHEN

September 21 ~ 8:50 a.m. A group of volunteers from Novesta serve at the Saginaw Soup Kitchen the 3rd Friday of each month by preparing and serving food to those in need. Sign up on the bulletin board in the middle hallway if you would like to help.

(Starting September 26th) This fall we are inviting all kids ages 4yrs. – 6th grade to join us after school on Wednesdays (3:30-4:45pm) as we eat yummy snacks, enjoy praise & worship, learn awesome Bible lessons, and engage in fun activities! We’ve never done an “afterschool” program and we’re excited about the opportunities that it will provide. With opportunities also comes responsibility and we’re looking for some awesome volunteers to help make this time great for our kids. Maybe you’d like to lead a group, or be a helper, or maybe you’d like to provide snack(s) for the kids each week—we’d love to give you the chance to serve in the capacity God is calling you to! We’re all hoping to have transportation available at the school for all of you busy parents. There will be registration sheets available in the middle hallway next Sunday. If you are able to help in any capacity, please see Brad or Kristy Speirs.

(Starting September 30th)

On Sunday nights @ 6PM we will be hanging out with all of the 7th – 12th grade students (college agers are wel-come also). We’ll be meeting in separate classes and having a great time learning about God, growing closer to each other, and just having an all around thumbs-up time! Looking forward to a great fall of growing and learning together!

Quilters’ Comfort Ministry

September 12 ~ 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Our Comfort Ministry meets on the 2nd Wednes-day of each month. If you enjoy sewing or tying off quilts or would just enjoy the company, come join us. The quilts are given to the Women’s shelters in Huron, Sanilac & Tuscola counties. They are also given to any child that is going thru some sort of trauma whether it be a sick-ness, loss of a loved one, or some situation where they need comfort and encouragement. We also have quilts saved, ready to give to fire victims. So you can see that there is a great need and we enjoy getting together and fill-ing that need. We’d love to have you come join us. (NOTE: Bring a dish to pass as that is also the day of the Fellowship Potluck.)

September is going to be a busy month as we have three parties this month. The parties are:

September 7th,

September 14th, and

September 28th.

If you’re looking for a place to serve, we’d love to have you join us and help out. The 5th Quarters are parties for 7th – 12th grade students that run from after the football game (9ish) till 11PM.

Positive Alternatives Volunteer Training Scheduled Positive Alternatives is looking for Christian women who desire to serve the Lord in a Christ-centered pro-life ministry working di-rectly with women and families. We will begin practic-ing the first Sunday of October for our Christmas Cantata titled, “Noel & Alleluia! Jesus Is Born.” Although Christmas is months away, time seems

to fly by so we need to get started with the prac-tices. If you are interested in joining the choir, we would love to have you. The Cantata has many of the familiar Christmas carols as well as some new songs to learn. If you have any questions, see Carrie Gilley.
