Our numbers have increased markedly, the chil- dren have been involved in a variety of events and many have demonstrated out- standing results. My thanks to the staff for their never ending work and to the parent community for their reless support throughout the year. Together you have helped us promote Wyndham Vale Primary School as a place of educaonal excellence in the local community. Grade 6 graduaon. Congratulaons to our year 6 group who had their graduaon ceremony here at school on Tuesday night, followed by a din- ner with their teachers as waing staff! We are very proud of how these young people have represented themselves as the leaders of our school this year. A big congratula- ons too to Aurora Horobin who was an- nounced as our Student of the Year, Carol Nungirayi who won the Julia Gillard award and Charlie Drieberg who received the Tim Pallas Endeavour award. Xmas Raffle Thank you to everyone who supported our Xmas raffle which will be drawn at assem- bly on Monday morning. There are over 20 hampers to be won! Tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10: see the office for more details. A few reminders about the last day of school on Tuesday: School finishes at 1.15pm, following a whole school assembly at 1.00pm There is NO lunch break on Tuesday and as such NO school bags are required at school. Students will only need a small snack in a labelled disposable bag Children are required to be in FULL school uniform Students will spend a short me with their new class (and teacher if they are available) tomorrow. I do remind parents that many hours have been put into establishing these classes for next year, inclusive of a mix of gender, academics, personalies, etc., and as such no changes can be made Oſten students who are leaving the school wish to have their school T-shirt signed as a momento. Dear Parents

Welcome to this, the final newsletter for

the year. Thinking back over 2016 there

has been many causes for celebration. Our

numbers have increased markedly, the chil-

dren have been involved in a variety of

events and many have demonstrated out-

standing results. My thanks to the staff for

their never ending work and to the parent

community for their tireless support

throughout the year. Together you have

helped us promote Wyndham Vale Primary

School as a place of educational excellence

Grade 6 graduation.

Congratulations to our year 6 group who

had their graduation ceremony here at

school on Tuesday night, followed by a din-

ner with their teachers as waiting staff! We

BIKE SAFETY

NO HELMET—NO BIKE!

As per VicRoads: All children, whether they are riding a bike or they are a passenger – must wear a properly fitting and fastened helmet that meets Australian safety standard AS/NZS2063.

You need to wear a helmet when you’re riding on:

roads

road-related areas

bike paths

bike lanes

shared and separated footpaths.

Please ensure your children follow these

safety regulations, details of our school

bike policy are available from the office.

This policy states that children caught

without helmets will have their bikes

confiscated.

It is with pleasure that I provide for you details of our

teaching teams for 2017. I am confident that these

teams will provide a strong and positive educational

experience for your child/ren. You will note that we

are welcoming many new staff to our school.

Students will get the chance to meet their new class

after 11.15am on the last day , Tuesday, December

20. Note that not all of our new staff will be available

as they are moving to the area over the Christmas

break.

Student Medication

ALL student medication needs to be collected Tues-

day, December 20 from the front office . Asthma

puffers may be collected by students but all other

medication needs to be signed out by an adult over

the age of 18 at the end of the day.

Missing library books and take

home readers

Please search at home for any

of our library books, take

home readers etc. For every

book that is returned from

now until Tuesday morning, students will get a raffle

ticket to go into the draw for a chance to win a $50

Coles/Myer voucher to be drawn on Tuesday Decem-

ber 20th in the morning. We are currently undertaking

a stocktake of all our books and your help in returning

any of our books would be greatly appreciated—

Uniform sale

Do you have school uniform in good condition your

child no longer needs? We would love to accept do-

nations of second hand uniform which we can have

available for our new families. Alternatively you may

wish to sell these. If this is the case please write your

name, your child’s name and the amount you require

on an envelope and pin it to the garment.

School canteen

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, the

canteen will not be open for the rest of the term.

Jude Fina Foods apologises for this inconvenience.

The canteen will recommence on Wednesday, Febru-

ary 1st 2017 and will be open everyday in 2017.

Congratulations to Tracy Paton who was awarded the

Julia Gillard Local Hero Award at our graduation cere-

mony on Tuesday night. Tracy volunteers many hours

of her time at the school and is a worthy recipient.

Pop Up Playgroup

All families with young children join

us for a FREE indoor/outdoor play-

group open to all ages, We welcome

all types of caregivers including

grandparents, single parent families

and family day carers.

All activities and equipment provid-

ed. Just bring your hat in warmer

weather and a water bottle.
