Main activities undertaken by the

committee for the month of November

are:

� Paathshala teachers participated in

Aveley Primary School Incursion, a

multi cultural week on 5th and 6th

November to increase awareness about

Indian culture amongst Non-Indian

Communities.

1. Proposal submitted to Piara Waters

Primary School to start Hindi

classes in the primary school

premises.

2. School has forwarded this proposal

to Ministry of Education WA for

approval .

Massive advertisement on Face book

page for registration in Hindi classes at

Piara Waters. Nine students enrolled so

far.

From HSWA management committee, a

very happy and prosperous New Year

इस महीने सिमित क( कुछ मु*य गितिविधया इस �कार रही :

�पाठशाला क( अ/यािपकॉयो ने ऐविल �ाइमरी �कूल के ि3�ा4मण (Incursion), बह@ सां�कृितक हCते म% ५ और ६ नवबंर को िह�सा िलया. यह काय�कम� का उHेश िवदेशी समाज म% भारतीय स�ंकृित का �चार करना था ।

�पाठशाला :

1. पाठशाला ने िपआरा वाटस� �ाथिमक �कूल को �कूल पMरसर म% िहंदी क3ाये शुN करने के िलया एक ��ताव िदया.

2. �कूल म% यह ��ताव िमिन��ी ऑफ़ एजुकेशन (WA) को अनुमित के िलए भेजा ह.ै

फेसबकु पर िपआरा वाटस� िहंदी Vलास म% नामांकन करने के िलए भारी �चार, अब तक ९ बXचो ने नामांकन िकया.

सभी म%बस� और सभी पMरवार के सदसयो को HSWA मनेैजम%ट सिमित क( और से नव वष� क( बह@त बह@त शुभकामनाये, भगवान करे क( आने वाला समय आपके जीवन म% धन दौलत सेहत और खुिशयां ले कर आये

A step forward to take Third Branch of

Paathshala in Primary School premises( Present address: Piara Waters Pavilion, Wright Road, Piara Waters)

As we informed in our October Edition that a third branch of

Paathshala was opened in Piara Waters on 25 October 2015 and

the classes commenced on the same day.

Hindi Samaj is taking it a step further. HSWA has submitted a

proposal to the management of Piara Waters Primary School

(PWPS) to start Hindi classes at PWPS premises in partnership

with (PWPS) from next year school term-1. Hindi Classes shall

be run by our Hindi School ‘Paathshala’ teachers. The proposal

has been taken very positively by the school management. PWPS

management has forwarded the proposal to the Ministry of

Education to obtain permission.

Under the proposal, Hindi classes shall be open to both PWPS

and outside students (age 5 and up) as well as adults. These

classes shall be open to all who wish to learn Hindi as a second or

third language. There will be no cultural or religious restrictions.

The Primary School will be promoting Hindi classes in their

school and Ministry of Education through advertising in school

notice board, newsletters, emails, website etc.

Primary objective of this proposal is to provide an opportunity to

our students to develop basic and advanced skills in Hindi

language as we believe that Education in Languages opens up

career opportunities. This also provides a range of benefits, such

as, stimulating brain development; enhancing literacy skills; and

encouraging respect and understanding of other cultures.

हमार पाठशाला क� क ाओं को एक और नयी 'दशा देने क� ओर )यास

हमार� �पयारा वाटस क� तीसर� शाखा को जो क� २५ अ�टूबर को खुल� थी, हम वह�ं के !ाइमर� #कूल म$ #था�पत करने क� को&शश कर रहे ह'. ये क(ाएं गत वष २०१६ क� पहल� टम से श/ु करने हेतु बातचीत चल रह� है.

ये क(ाएं #कूल क� छु3ी के बाद ह� हमार� पाठशाला क� अ6या�पका ल$गी और इसम$ #कूल और बाहर के ब8चे जो ५ वष क� आयु से अ:धक ह' एनरोल कर सकते ह'. ब8च= के आलावा एड?@स भी अगर Bहदं� सीखने के इ8छुक ह= तो अपना नाम दज कर सकते ह'.

Bहदं� भाषा म$ ब8च= क� Cनपुणता लाने क� तरफ यह एक !यास है.

ऐव-ल )ाइमर /कूल इंकष2णAveley Primary School organised a multi cultural week from 2-6November. Hindi Samaj was invited to participate in the event. Ourteam participated for two days, 5th and 6th November. Main Aim was toincrease awareness about Indian culture amongst Non-IndianCommunities. Mrs Rashmi Loyalka coordinated with schoolmanagement for our participation and Madhu Handa was the co-coordinator for this event.

First day was assigned to incursion activities in Art and craft for yearone and two children. On this day our team comprising of Mrs AshrafIqbal and the Paathshal teacher Rushali along with some parents witha particular mention of Mrs Hema shankar taught the school childrenhow to make two Icons of India, namely Taj Mahal and a Peacock. Wealso made Toran ( a door Decoration). With the children. All childrenparticipated very enthusiatically along with the school staff.

ऐव&ल !ाइमर� #कूल इंकषण हमारे &लए एक मौका था अपनी भारतीय सHयता का !चार व ् !सार करने का और हमने इस अवसर का भरपरू लाभ उठाया. हमार� सद#य रिLम लोयलका जी क� पहल पर हम$ ये अवसर !ाMत हुआ और हम$ दो Bदन, पांच और छह नवOबर, को भाग लेने का मौका &मला. Pीमती मध ु हांडा के नेतRृव म$ Bहदं� समाज क� ट�म ने सराहनीय काम Sकया िजसमे Pीमती अशरफ इक़बाल, हमार� पाठशाला क� अ6या�पका Uशल� ने महRवपणू योगदान Bदया. कुछ ब8च= क� माताओं का सहयोग भी महRवपणू था जैसे क� Pीमती हेमा शंकर. हम$ पहल� और दसूर� क(ा के ब8च= को आट और WाXट &सखलाने का मौका Bदया गया.

पांच तार�ख को ह� 'शो एंड टेल' कायWम म$ हमने ब8च= और अअ6या�पकाओं को Bहदं#ुतानी कपड़ ेपहनाये. कर�बन सभी अ6या�पकाओं ने बड़ ेशौक से साडी पहनी और माथे पर [बदं� भी लगाई.

हमने ब8च= को भारत के दो गौरव :च]ह, ताजमहल और मोर बनाना &सखाया. इसके अलावा हमने दरवाजे क� सजावट के &लए लगाई जाने वाल� तोरन भी ब8च= को बनानी &सखाई. ब8च= के साथ साथ उनक� अ6या�पकाओं ने भी हमारे काय म$ बहुत /:च Bदखाई.

During the break we served Indian Snacks to all staff.. Helping hand ofthe parents was much appreciated. In the afternoon students weremade to stamp and dance on the patriotic song “Jai Ho” in which bothchildren and teachers participated. This activity lead by Namita wasthoroughly enjoyed by every one.

नाLत े के समय हमने भारतीय ^यंजन भी !#ततु Sकये जो काफ� लोक�!य रहे. लंच के बाद हमने रा_`�य गान ‘जय हो’ क� ताल पर ब8च= को न&मता जी ने खबू नचाया. सभी ब8च= और अ6या�पकाओं म$ हष क� लहर देखने को &मल�.

Our contribution was highly

every one thoroughly enjoyed

the activities organised by us.

Overall we could call this event

another feather in the cap of

Hindi Samaj. Through this

event we have tried to increase

awareness about India culture

in the minds of Non-Indian

audience particularly very

young children and have been

successful to a large extent.

On the second day our children were asked to participate in the

cultural evening organised by the school. Our Paathshala students

performed two items, one of which was a dance that portrayed

Indian culture from different states of India through regional

costumes and dance steps. The second item was a choir.

Survey from Office of Multicultural Affairs to get publicopinion about issues impacting migrants life in Australia

Dear Colleagues,

Each year the Scanlon Foundation conducts the Australia@ survey which garners publicopinion about a range of issues impacting life in Australia. The survey has been important inunderstanding the outlook for Australian-born and immigrants during a time of rapidpopulation growth, rising security concerns and questioning of the working of Australiandemocracy. The survey has been useful in demonstrating support for multiculturalism andproviding direction on areas on which to focus to build social cohesion and community.

The survey is available in 19 languages, is open to all people living in Australia and coversissues such as:

• fairness in Australian society

• life satisfaction

• identity

• the best – and the worst – aspects of Australian life

• trust in fellow Australians and our institutions, such as police and schools

• the media

• neighbourhood life

• cultural diversity

• expectations for the future
