The continued success and growth of an organization depends on having the right talent in the right place at the right time. Faith considers succession planning to be a continuous and strategic process for identifying, developing, and retaining its key employees. Most commonly, succession planning helps ensure employees identified for leadership positions have the skills and experience needed to step up and fill a key role when the time is right. Succession planning transcends to all levels of the organization though, making sure the knowledge employees hold about their roles, business processes, and other important data to support their jobs can be passed along. Benefits of Succession Planning When succession planning efforts are effectively executed, we ensure the continued success and sustainable growth of Faith Technologies. Every employee should be involved, but succession planning efforts really begin with a company’s commitment to providing the environment employees need to grow professionally. In doing so, Faith demonstrates its commitment to it’s employees, and also helps ensure those team members remain committed to the company. Finally, effective succession planning better positions the company to anticipate future growth and training needs, identifies high-potential employees for key leadership positions, and creates opportunity for continuous advancement within Faith. Responsibilities to Ensure Effective Succession Planning Every leader within Faith quite likely had others around them to help them in their career development, so it’s important that today’s leaders focus on ways to pay it forward, helping others develop their careers. Benefits of Succession PlanningWhen succession planning efforts are effectively executed, we ensure the continued success and sustainable growth of Faith Technologies.

Responsibilities to Ensure Effective Succession PlanningEvery leader within Faith quite likely had others around them to help them in their career development, so it’s important that today’s leaders focus on ways to pay it forward, helping others develop their careers. This can be accomplished in several key ways:

• Provide an environment for continuous growth• Contribute to the mentoring network by serving as a mentor for someone else within Faith• Help those we work with enhance their leadership competencies• Identify others with high-potential around us who can take on roles with increased responsibility and leadership opportunity• Focus on policies, procedures, and practices, helping employees understand what it will take to be successful

Employees also need to play an active role in their career development to help ensure they weigh in on the course their career path ultimately takes. Specific actions employees should consider include:

• Seek a mentor to help you grow in your career• Ask questions and gain feedback on skills and performance in current role• Establish short and long-term goals• Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and professional development

Our employees are our most valuable resource. We want to do everything we can to support career goals and development, and improve their skills to succeed. When employees actively participate, we provide a framework for the long-term success for both our employees and Faith. Your Success is Truly Our Future.

SUCCESSION PLANNING - YOUR SUCCESS IS TRULY OUR FUTURE

Putting up holiday decorations is often a fun family activity filled with music, eggnog or hot chocolate, and a variety of holiday snacks. As the holidays come to an end, our attention turns towards the task of taking down the decorations. This is a task that is usually far less exciting and is often put off as long as possible. Whenever you decide to take down your holiday decorations, make sure you keep safety in mind.

Since 2009, holiday decoration-related injuries have increased at a rate of 1,000 per year putting 2016 on pace for 16,000 Christmas decorating-related injuries.

Follow these five tips to make sure you stay safe while taking down your holiday decorations.

• Take down the tree as early as possible. Each year there is an average of 210 holiday tree related fires in the United States.

• Pace yourself while taking down your holiday decorations. Instead of rushing to get everything down in one day, try planning ahead, and taking a portion of the decorations down each day through the course of a week.

• Don’t leave boxes of decorations throughout the house. Put them away as soon as they are packed to avoid a tripping hazard.

• Take the time to reposition yourself when taking down decorations. Don’t over reach and get help with heavy or bulky items to avoid soft tissue injuries.

• Be sure to follow ladder safety practices. More than 40% of holiday-decorating injuries were the result of falling off of a ladder. Make sure your ladder is secure, and set up correctly. Be sure to maintain three points of contact, and follow the belt buckle rule while working from a ladder.

It is easy to injure yourself while taking down holiday decorations, but it is also easy to prevent these injuries from occurring. Let’s make sure we stay safe, and enjoy 2016!

ASK MIKE

Q. Have there been discussions to consider adding Level 1 apprenticeship classes more frequently? A. Due to limited space and resources, new Level 1 class cycles currently begin in fall only.

However, to keep up with our rapid growth and combat the skilled labor shortage, the company has recognized the need to start apprentices in the program more frequently; therefore, we are exploring the opportunity of starting new class cycles twice per year beginning with the 2016/2017 school year. This means we would begin apprenticeship classes in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.All employees who choose to pursue company-sponsored training or education opportunities are required to complete a training cost repayment agreement. This agreement states that the employee will reimburse the company for the cost of the training if the employee separates from the company within a specific time period, regardless of whether the employee chooses to terminate employment or the company terminates employment due to performance or a violation of company policy.

Q. Are Faith’s external and internal applications reviewed for other positions in the company if the position the applicant originally applied for was filled?

A. The process for applying varies a bit depending on whether the individual is a current Faith employee or is a potential candidate from outside the company. Both are outlined both below:

• Current Employees: If an employee sees a position he or she is interested in applying for, they should complete the internal application.

External Candidates: Potential external candidates are advised to complete an application found at www.faithtechnologies.com/careers. After an initial application is complete, it is saved in the application system, and can be accessed by the candidate to review, update, and resubmit for any other positions he or she may be interested in pursuing.

Applications completed for a specific position will not automatically be “revisited” when new positions open up. While this can happen, we truly expect candidates to apply for the specific jobs for which they are interested. These processes should be followed each time an employee or external candidate decides to pursue a new position with Faith Technologies.

New! Employees now have an anonymous way to submit their questions! To access this submission option, you can click the following link, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RQXFRDP, or access it at any time from the Faith SharePoint site or the employee login page of the Faith Technologies’ website. This submission option is intended for questions that impact a widespread audience only.

All other questions can still be directed to the AskMike email submission option at [email protected].

Questions will be addressed via email with the specific individual and/or shared during the next M3 meeting on January 20 at 7 AM and 11:30 AM CST.

UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN - OSHKOSH, ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

We are excited to announce that the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) has been awarded a grant from the Department of Workforce Development to provide an opportunity for a select number of incumbent workers to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree through their Electrical Engineering Technology program. In recognition of our company’s participation in this initiative, UWO has granted Faith the ability to be the first company to select candidates for participation in the program, which tentatively begins in March 2016. The 18-month Electrical Engineering Technology program consists of the following curriculum:

Individuals selected to participate in the program would need permission from their supervisors to attend, as they would need to commit to approximately 5 hours of classroom time per week. Additionally, while they would be responsible for purchasing their own books, they would have their tuition covered by the grant. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity or being considered as a potential candidate for this program, please contact one of the following individuals:

• Bill Lynch, Vice President of Engineering, 920-751-9954• Jill Hermans, Director of Learning & Development, 920-751-9808

CCA Trousdale County Correctional Facility is a 2,552-bed facility in Hartsville, TN. The campus includes five general housing units, a segregation housing unit, a dormitory building, two inmate support buildings, a religious/education building, a maintenance and visitation building, an administrative building, and six partially-covered outdoor recreation areas.

Faith Technologies was subcontracted by JE Dunn Construction for the complete electrical installation of power distribution, lighting, and devices for twelve campus buildings, six recreation yards, and a new correctional facility campus. All inmate cells were premanufactured and waiting onsite for installation, which allowed the buildings to be constructed at a very fast pace.

While Faith Technologies’ team did a great job meeting the project deadline, it didn’t come without it’s challenges. An aggressive project schedule, a shortage of field leadership, coupled with a very large and spread out jobsite created opportunities for the Faith crew to work smarter and as a team to get the job done on time.

Did you know? For the second year in a row, Faith Technologies teamed up with the other companies involved in the project to raise money for local charities. This year they raised over $4,800! Read more about this community involvement effort in the Hartsville Vidette.

HAVE YOU ENROLLED TO RECEIVE YOUR ELECTRONIC W-2 FOR THIS TAX YEAR?

2016 POLICY UPDATES

As a follow up from October’s announcement, beginning this tax year, employees will be able to access their online W-2 statement via Faith’s secure online check stub website, Doculivery. In order to access their W-2, employees must first provide a one-time consent for online delivery of the W-2 form through Doculivery. Depending on your selections when you OPT-IN, you will be notified via email when your 2015 W-2 statement is available.

For assistance with the Doculivery website, including account and password information, please email Payroll Specialist, Judy Peschke-Frank, or call 920-751-9833. For additional information or questions, please email Payroll Manager, Christy Glocke, or call 920-751-9865.

Earlier in 2015, Faith Technologies selected six individuals to participate in the first ever robotic total station certification program through Trimble Navigation: Koltin Nelson (Journeyman); Noah Maher (Journeyman), Rich DeLao (Apprentice), Jason Burkholder (Journeyman), Bryan McMahon (Journeyman) and Chris Wildenberg. As noted on Page 6, these employees recently completed the program, placing them in a very select group to receive the certification!

These individuals are not only able to support Faith’s robotic total station operations throughout the nation, they are now leading the training effort for Faith Technologies robotic total station certification program. This program closely mirrors the Trimble Navigation program, but allows Faith to empower its own experts to train other employees - ensuring a consistent training throughout the organization.

To ensure Faith continues to be well-positioned to strategically assist with robotic total station operations across all Faith projects, we are looking to expand our team of robotic total station operators. In addition to earning a $2/hour kicker, the training, exam, and recertification fees are covered by Faith for approved employees. For full details, please reference the Robotic Total Station Position found on the Learning & Development SharePoint > Training Certifications > Trimble or on My Employment. Anyone with interest in the program is encouraged to email Darin Marsden, Director of Virtual Construction, or call 920-751-9924.
