Nikken’s Magnetic TechnologiesMagnetic energy is an intrinsic part of the body’s natural processes and part of the natural environment for all living things.

an ancient principle and significant component of Far eastern cultures and traditional Chinese Medicine (tCM – the foundation of healthcare in China and japan for thousands of years) is that of flows of energies in the body. this has led, for example, to the West recognising the value of alternative practises.

In addition, the magnetic field of the earth has changed substantially over human history, even reversing many times over the planet’s history. Modern civilisation has also played its part, with the growth of electromagnetic fields and radiation, since the end of the 19th century, all of which inter-react with the body’s natural energy fields. approximately 3% of the population in sweden are officially recognised as suffering functional impairment due to electromagnetic fields in the environment; this is a growing problem.

the use of magnetic technology was developed by nikken to counterbalance this effect, and make our surroundings more like the natural magnetic field that has protected human beings for millions of years. nikken’s magnetic products help to restore the conditions in which human beings are meant to live and thrive.

far-infrared technology: Far-Infrared (FIr) is a way of saying “long wavelength heat” – as such it is a natural and beneficial part of the sun’s spectrum. there are a number of conventional applications of FIr in the hands of physiotherapists, for example.

nikken’s Far-Infrared technology is an exciting development, bringing the technology to the home environment: a special passive ceramic that can be impregnated into fibres, it first absorbs broad spectrum heat then radiates that energy as FIr heat, a gentle, soothing form of heat that also adds to a sense of wellbeing. thus the technology can be built into sleep systems, seats, wraps, pads, jewellery etc, with the benefits experienced passively and slowly over time – indeed a whole night – without electrical input or devices.

this technology offers a number of specific benefits: in particular, it acts as intelligent insulation, helping to create an adaptive sleep environment, and helps create a supportive environment for the body’s natural processes.

negative ions: negative ions are essentially molecules with an overall negative charge. air which is rich in negative ions tends to be experienced as calming and nourishing, such as near waterfalls, forests or beaches.

nikken applies negative Ion technology in two ways – as a feature of the Kenkoair® air system, using a patented ozone-free process, and as a passive negative Ion technology that can be incorporated into fibres, such as the KenkoDream® Quilt, our FIr wraps, and even nikken’s triPhase® jewellery.

the first application of nikken’s Magnetic technology was the design of the nikken KenkoInsoles®, the company’s first product when launched in 1975. since then, nikken’s research teams have continued the process of research and found that the more complex the fields, the more effective they are on the body. as a consequence, we now offer four major developments:

field gradient technology: nikken products such as the PowerPatch®, Kenkoseat® and KenkoDream® Quilts use bipolar magnets, either singly or in a multiple-magnet array. the arrays are precisely spaced to produce a pattern of magnetic flow (flux lines) between the magnets, creating a complex field gradient of magnetic energy utilising multiple polarities and flux.

eQl magnetic technology: equilateral Magnetic technology uses a patented design that increases the magnetic surface activity by maximising the number of flux lines possible on a flat surface. It multiplies the number of positive and negative poles, thus creating more lines of force crossing this surface. the practical result of this approach is that the magnetic field is perfectly uniform over the entire area.

dynamic magnetic technology: a dynamic magnetic field is more complex than a static field, and the Magboy® and MagCreator® achieve this effect with two rotating magnetic balls. this produces a deeply penetrating 3-dimensional magnetic field – and a soothing and relaxing massage roller as well!

magnetic tension technologies: two recent product developments include nikken’s patented Magnetic tension technologies, which start to bring some of the 3-dimensional complexity of the Dynamic technology into a static form. raM® (radial-axis Magnetism) technology modules feature small hi-tech magnetic spheres in a stepped alignment that produce a series of overlapping magnetic fields in tension, while the latest DynaFlux® technology has been incorporated into the new PowerChip™.
