El Rey de Babilonia decidió construir el ídolo (estatua) más grande en toda la Tierra. Tenía 90 pies de alto por 9 de ancho, era de oro. El rey quería que todos adoraran su ídolo.
Entonces el rey lanzó una ley, “Cada vez que escuchen el sonido de la bocina, la fl auta y el arpa, de-ben inclinarse y adorar la estatua de oro. Quien no se someta a esta ley, será lanzado en un horno de fuego”.
Pero había tres hombres que se negaron a incli-narse. Ellos estaban desobedeciendo su ley.

Entonces el rey les dijo a sus soldados más fuertes que los aten y los
lancen al fuego ardiente. Así lo hicieron. De repente, el rey saltó de su asiento. “¡Esperen un minuto!”, exclamó. “Nosotros solo lanzamos tres hombres al horno. ¡Ahora veo a cuatro personas caminando por ahí en el fuego!
El cuarto parece un ángel.
“¡Los tres hombres tenían razón! Un ángel de Dios entró en el horno y así
Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego quedaron a salvo. Todos se reunieron alrededor de ellos para
ver qué había pasado. Estaban muy sorprendidos al ver que ni un pelo de la cabeza había sido tocado por las llamas del fuego.
Nadie podía creer lo que se veía. “Vamos a alabar al Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego”, dijo el rey. “Ellos tienen una fe tan fuerte en su Dios, que se enfrentarían a un horno de fuego, antes de inclinarse a un ídolo de oro”.
El rey hizo una nueva ley en ese momento. “No hay otro dios que pueda salvar a su pueblo como el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego”.

The King of Babylon decided to build the largest idol (statue) on Earth. It was 90 feet high by 9 wide. It was made of gold. The king wanted everyone to worship his idol.
Then the king issued a law, “Every time you hear the sound of the horn, fl ute and harp, should bow down and worship the golden image. Who ever does not submit to this law, will be released in a furnace of fi re.”
But there were three men who refused to bow. They were disobeying the law. “Who are these men?” asked the king. People said they were Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
The king was very angry. “Bring them,” said the king. He told them of his new law once again. The three men said: “We won’t bow to your idol. We only wor-ship the one true God. Our God will save us from the fl ames. Even if we are not saved, it is important that you know that this God is the one we believe in.”
Everyone gathered around them to see what had happened. They were very surprised to see that not a hair of their heads had been touched by the fl ames.
“Nobody could believe what we saw. Let us praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,” said the king. “They have a strong faith in God, they would face a fi ery furnace, rather than bowing to an idol of gold.”
The king then made a new law at that time. “There is no other God who can save His people as the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.”

The three men were right! An angel of God came into the oven and so Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were safe.

This is a simple way to celebrate
Independence Month!
Fresas rojas, blancas y azules
Necesitarás: • Fresas• Chispas de chocolate
blanco o caramelos de chocolate blanco para derretir
• Azúcar decorativa azul
You will need:• Strawberries• White chocolate chips
or Wilton white chocolate candy melts
• Blue sugar sprinkles
Red, white and blue strawberries

Paso 1. Lava las fresas y déjalas que se sequen por completo, de lo contrario el chocolate no se pega.
Step 1. Wash the strawberries and let them dry completely. (If they are still wet, the chocolate will not stick to the berries.)
Paso 3. Sumerge las fresas en el chocolate blanco hasta cubrir la mitad. Deja que el exceso de chocolate gotee en el recipiente.
Step 3. Dip the strawberries in the white chocolate to cover roughly 2/3 of each berry with white chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl and wipe away any globs of chocolate at the end of the berry.
