From the
Interested in studying abroad this summer? Be sure to look into the Honors College's own
study abroad program in Belgium, led by our former director, Dr. Steve Wainsco. Students
in Dr. Wainsco's program live and study in Brussels for a month, while learning about the
history of Belgium and issues involving the European Union. Not to menon the Belgian
french fries ( pommes frîtes) and chocolate.
Dr. Wainsco has a wealth of experience in , knowledge of, and enthusiasm for Belgium in
general and Brussels in parcular. He'll be organizing excursions to important sites and cies
--including the medieval town of Ghent, and the historic baleelds at Ypres. Your courses
(which can count for general educaon credit) are taught by European professors, so you'll
get a very dierent perspecve than you'd get in the States.
There's sll me to aend an informaon session on the Brussels Program (Tuesday at
5:30pm, Holmes basement conference room), or email Dr. Wainsco ( [email protected])
for more informaon. The Honors College will even help subsidize your airfare!
